It's not sure thing at this point. - ob18
Oh I know. Pretty cool idea though. It's gone pretty well for the NBA I think, it hasn't been a sideshow or anything. I think it's a nice bone to throw the teams in the upper atmosphere of NHL clubs that share revenue with the bottom feeders.
EDIT: I have no clue if revenue sharing even exists in the NHL. |

I'll be playing Xbox or roleplaying games to deter my getting into it or seeing it.
Or I'll be on other forums, discussing such subjects. Less irksome. - Flyskippy

I hate revenue sharing, rather have a cap. Revenue sharing means I'm paying top dollar to make the Phoenix Coyotes better. No, thank you. |

"To me, our thinking is completely backward,” Clarke said. “I lost Kim Johnsson to (unrestricted) free agency because the Minnesota Wild gave him $4.8 million. Well, the Flyers had to give (revenue sharing) money to Minnesota and other teams and I don’t like that but it’s the rules. And then Minnesota takes that money and signs my player and there are no rules to say I can keep him if I match.”

I miss the Detroit, Philly, NY arms race days. Granted they're all still major players, but it was different and more fun then.
EDIT: Shannahan ........stupid drinking buddy of Lindros.....and now 2 more drinking buddies are poised to win a cup
We need a team of drinkers. |

If the Flyers of today drank like the Bullies teams, Carchidi, Panotch and Frank would be renting rooms above the bar |

Poetic justice? Not sure how that's the case. The Flyers didn't trade them for the sake of just getting rid of them, they made two solid hockey deals that in Team Managements eyes was improving the team.
Maybe slightly in Richards case it is, but Carter was traded to Columbus and basically held the franchise hostage so he could land in a better situation for him. A classic example of a guy wanting to part of the problem, instead of the solution. - PLindbergh31
Well the reason that Richards and Carter signed similar, cap friendly deals was to stay together and lift the cup together, and shipping them out just before their ntc kicked in was kind of a greasy move (One that, in Carters case, had to happen). So ya, i see poetic justice there |

it's a business or hockey move, nothing greasy about it. if they had played and behaved up to expectations, there is no doubt in my mind both would still be here. personal responsibility is something i preach. |

Looking at the draft order, I wonder what it'd take for the Flyers to move up.
Right now they're at 20.
The order is:
1. Edmonton
2. Columbus
3. Montreal
4. New York Islanders
5. Toronto
6. Anaheim
7. Minnesota
8. Carolina
9. Winnipeg
10 Tampa Bay
11. Washingotn
12. Buffalo
13. Dallas
14. Calgary
15. Ottawa
16. Washington
17. San Jose
18. Chicago
19. Tampa Bay
20. Flyers
It'd be ideal if they could move the 20th pick and Bobrovsky for the 10th pick. Not sure that'd be enough. |

There are less and less season ticket holders that I know every year. This might have been MOAT's last season, wifeskippy has discussed dropping, and others have discussed switching to plans vs. full-season tix.
That's just one reason my wife hates revenue sharing. Propping up the never-should-have-been's. |

it took me 2 days to realize that the physics engine on that game is severely flawed, call ea to complain, send the game back for a sealed copy and then return the game to walmart. that game is horrid |

Personally I would say no it's not enough, but then again I also would prefer to stick at 20 or move back in hopes of getting a 2nd 1st rounder in 2013 which will likely be better overall talent pool.
