Not really overreacting. Comparing players with the similar career paths. Major difference is Kreider wasn't the # 2 pick in his draft class. - PLindbergh31
he's had a few good games with teams not having a book on him, being healthy and not having just played an 82 game season when his competition has.
JVR was perhaps the best player in the playoffs for much of the first two rounds last year. but we all tried to keep it in perspective.
its about consistency, imo. |

I'm throwing this past year for JVR out, he wasn't healthy all year. It sucks this early while he's still in the developmental stage that an entire year is a washout, but it is what it is.
What Kreider is doing having never played a regular season NHL game is pretty special imo. Especially playing for a coach like Tortorella. |

im not discounting what he's doing at all. I really like his game.
but to call him "lightyears ahead of JVR" is foolish, imo |

Perhaps it is foolish, we'll see if it turns out to be true. Hopefully it doesn't. |

Have you seen this Kreider kid in these playoffs? He's had the same career path as JVR, and is the same type of player, a power forward. The kid is dominating and playing on the Rags top line for a taskmaster coach having never played an NHL game before the playoffs. Do you know how hard that is to do? - PLindbergh31
kreider is not dominating. he's having a good showing. but dominating is a major overstatement |

Kiprusoff?
Here is some old news I found.
Saturday could be the last time that Miikka Kiprusoff dons a Calgary Flames uniform. Kiprusoff has two years remaining on his contract but this off-season will be the first time the no-movement clause in the contract will expire. There are many reports out there that the Flames need to start re-building and the first change could be in goal where Kiprusoff could fetch a lot of assets in a deal. "He’s our heart and soul," Curtis Glencross said. "Our backbone. He’s the one who gives us a chance to win most nights." He has been very good once again this season as he has 35 wins with a 2.35 GAA and .921 save percentage in 70 games. Stay tuned in the off-season as it should be interesting. Apr 7 - 7:21 AM

I would love to see Glencross in a Flyers jersey. Probably will never happen. |

I read THN, follow hockey in all 30 NHL cities, and try to keep an eye on juniors, etc.. It's more fun than following the other three major sports.
Glencross and Doan would be two players I'd love to see here. Doan's too old now and Glencross is about to hit 30 himself. Just guys that were never Flyers that I like.
More realistically, I'd like to see Gaustad here this fall. |

I like Gaustad just not sure you want to pay him a decent amount to be a 4 th line center. He would help improve a lot of areas. |

Can watch D-man Olli Määttä & goalie Michael Houser for London tonight but they are playing a loaded St John team.

I believe Kreider has been benched on a couple of occasions for poor decision making. It hasn't been all roses for him. |

Nope. Kreider's obviously the spawn of Superman and Wonder Woman and is impervious to decline, ever. He will obviously score 93 goals next year, cure Herpes with his urine and will personally stop North Korea and Iran's nuclear ambitions.
We have too many people here who live a half empty glass life, or at the very least delight in trolling their own fanbase. |

He's a very talented kid, who nobody has any NHL tape or video on. He has a bright future and has done some very good things. But to say he's light years ahead of a guy with two or three years experience after 15 games or whatever is honestly just (frank)ing stupid.
It's not being analytical, it's being a troll. |
