Yeah playing on the top pairing on Edmonton is a real accomplishment. A team where a 1 footed Whitney is there best D man. - zach parise9
Like I said lets see who has the better season next year and who has the sophmore jinx hit them. Petry is worth as much as Gardiner any day of the week. |

Who is the better player right now? Gardiner.
Who has more potential? Gardiner
Who has more value? Gardiner
Only one who is a retard is you if you actually believe what that other guy was saying. - zach parise9
Who has more potential? The 10th overall pick who is 21 or the 17th overall pick who is 22? Retard |

Once again, an idiot making Oiler fans look bad. Potential means (frank) all. Lots of good prospects with lots of potential tank. Not to say Paajarvi won't be good someday, but Gardiner has already proven himself capable of playing consistently at the NHL level. Paajarvi has not. Until Paajarvi proves himself, he will never be worth as much as Gardiner. |

Yeah that 10th overall pick would not be drafted there if there were a draft redo. |

Here is an example of the logic you are using: Smid was drafted 9th overall. Weber was drafted 49th overall. Therefore, Smid > Weber. It doesn't work that way. |

Calling me an idiot? answer me this how many Power forwards are in the NHL?
How many of those have speed of PRV. Any G.M. will kill for that even not making the NHL yet.
Or a dime a dozen offensive defenseman. hmmmmm I wonder where the value is.
I would take PRV over a overrated offensive not very good defensivly defenseman anyday of the week. |

He isn't. Him having one foot obviously has hampered him, but other players have stepped up making him no longer the top guy. |

First of all, do you even know what a dime a dozen means? Jake Gardiner, an offensive defenseman who was able to play consistently at the NHL level and put up 30+ points in a shortened season at 22 years old, is a dime a dozen. I don't need to call you an idiot. That statement speaks for itself, believe me.
I'm not saying Paajarvi doesn't have some value, but he was unable to hold down a spot this season on one of the absolute worst teams in the league. 8 points in 41 games. So no, he is not as valuable as Gardiner. Quit your homerism and deal with it. |

Your (frank)ing stupid - The_Vark
I don't post too often but I read most threads. LB is a homer and over the top, but really, why do people who cannot even write a three word sentence properly have the gall to call others stupid is way beyond me.
PS comparing Gardner and Petry is almost as ridiculous as comparing a 21 yr old power forward to a 22 year old dman coming off his first year. The hype for Gardner by a lot of Leafs fans has gone way way too far. The comparison is ridiculous. |

This whole argument is just hilarious. The argument is that a guy who is coming off of what is being perceived as a 'good' season vs a guy who had a bad season. They're both under 22. They're both first round picks. They've both got very high potential as different types of players, but both are key to the success of a team. Paajarvi at top potential could become an elite power forward, combining elite speed with size. Gardiner could become a top pairing offensive Defenseman and a top PP quarterback.
As an Oil fan I'm happy with Paajarvi, happy with how he's developing and glad he's in OKC. Obviously Leafs fans are happy with Gardiner, so this whole argument is irrelevant. |

Exactly. All we were trying to get through to LB is that right now in a trade Gardiner has more value because he had a good season. |

Just because he is considered a power forward with speed does not make him as valuable as you think. Other wise he wouldn't have put up 8 points in half a season this year. |

I don't even want your 1st overall pick. I want Galchenyuck at 2. Sorry for not paying attention to the team who has sucked for years. Whenever I'm on here you guys are always female doging about how you need an offensive dman. Chew on that. - optimus-reim
Why wouldn't you at least try to pay attention to the Leafs? They're not that bad. |
