First of all, do you even know what a dime a dozen means? Jake Gardiner, an offensive defenseman who was able to play consistently at the NHL level and put up 30+ points in a shortened season at 22 years old, is a dime a dozen. I don't need to call you an idiot. That statement speaks for itself, believe me.
I'm not saying Paajarvi doesn't have some value, but he was unable to hold down a spot this season on one of the absolute worst teams in the league. 8 points in 41 games. So no, he is not as valuable as Gardiner. Quit your homerism and deal with it. - dallas717
(frank) your a (frank)ing Idiot. I was being over the top for a very good reason. Gardiner is now the flavor of the week. Toronto trolls are in here daily trying to push him down our throats as the savior of the Leafs. 1st pairing potential what a (frank)en joke. Last year it was Schenn this Kessel that.
By the way BOZO a dime a dozen means what is suggests. "a little dime for a dozen of a product." In this case there are litterally 41 offensive defensemen better than Gardiner statisically speaking.
Is Petry worth more than Gardiner who the (frank) knows. Is PRV worth more than Schenn maybe depending what G.M.s would Give for him. But I know for sure the Oilers are still high on him.
And to that guy who said PRV isn't a power Forward....... That is exactly what he is learning down in Oak City. To Use his size to protect the puck to use his speed too power his way to the net, Nelson is teaching him to use his size to become a power forward..... ALA a Tim Kerr or a Kieth Preameau with speed, a power forward.

our 1st to columbus, gagne plus 2013 1st for Johanson and there 2nd overall so we can take reinhart. Would that be enough? or just a pipe dream - OilHead1989
Reinhart at 2 is like reverse pipe dream. And it's an overpayment for the Oilers.

So what you're saying is, more or less, Yakupov and Gagner for Johansen and Reinhart? Hmmm...I'd need to think about that for a bit.

The best thing to do is to draft yakupov and in a few years, when contracts are causing issues, make a deal. Of course that is assuming that everyone is performing to their potential. The haul you could get a few years down the road would be much more than now.

Dude, gardiner is not dime a dozen.
I dont know where u even came up with this.
Leaf fans are obviously way underrating prv's potential which is nothing new.
But dont do the same against gardiner just to support an argument.
Hes a young, skilled, smooth skating dman, that looks like he might become real good.
Prv has tons of tools as well, and imo might be great someday.
As far as potential, I dont think haters on either side are right. Its probably alot closer to fairly even.
But no question gardiners got the upper hand in whos the better player AT THE MOMENT.
Kind of amazing how these things take on a life of their own. Though I suppose short fuses are easy to find between fan bases that haven't seen much of the playoffs in a long time.
In terms of the draft some interesting decisions. Don't think Reinhart will go that high though teams have reached before. Would be happy to see the Leafs walk out of this with Forsberg though if Grigorenko is still there would rather they take their shot with him.

There are literally 240 wingers in the NHL better than PRV.
