That's my hope.
Just wish Homer would've said "we're taking a wait-and-see approach with Nick." - bmeltzer
I agree...and I think that would have been the more rational response from Homer. Grossman was clearly a step slower when he came back and not as sharp. Whether that was from concussion or his knee or both...
my thought of another story being more on the history of players being "healthy" and then injured within a couple days with no game contact .... or needing surgery in one outlet and being healthy in another one....

Pretty hypocritical of Torts to be ripping the Devils for setting picks, when there is nobody in the league that sets more picks than Ryan Callahan. Callahan has elevated it to an art form, but he still sets a ton of picks every game.
Or you could call it comical, as Deboer did. Both correct imo. |

I still feel like the Kings are completely in control of this game and will win.

i know this is totally out of left field and many will totally reject this idea, but....
i think the flyers should change their colors and/or logo. orange and black is the color combination with the highest contrast and that may have something to do with the team constantly having goalie problems. also, maybe the refs will forget we were the broad street bullies and actually give the team a fair shake. crazy idea, i know. i'm aware colors are important for teams, but it's been a hell of a long time since this franchise captured the ultimate goal and maybe changing the uni's could change karma. |

it is out of left field, and i do reject the idea. the only way this will ever happen is after ed snider passes. no chance while he's here. there really is no reason to change the logo or colors. the uniform, sure? they've done that in subtle ways over the years - and not so subtle with those early-mid 2000 orange unis with the chrome/gray trim on the logo and sleeves.
it would be interesting though, for sure, if they did change them. |

Except goaltending was not the reason they lost to the Devils.
Will changing colors prevent injuries?
Or cause the Powerplay to actually take a shot in an Overtime game?
Will a color change score them more than one goal in an elimination game |

yea i agree that there's no way they change the logo or colors until mr. snider passes and even then it's still unlikely. |

funny how a 2-0 lead can seem like 10-0 in some games. i never get that feeling while watching the flyers leading. |

The logo and colors are Iconic in hockey. You might as well suggest the Canadiens or Yankees change logos and colors.
There is only two other orange and black teams in all of pro sports. And when people say "The Orange and Black", they don't think of the Bengals or the Orioles, they think of the Flyers. |

Oh, I don't know. I think a teal/periwinkle combo would look kinda keen.

If this were a 1 goal game, this is where I would suggest a rule change. If a team, down by 1 goal with less than two minutes left in a game gets a power play, they should be able to get the entire power play instead of being punished for there being less than 2 minutes. It happens at the end of the first and second, so it should happen at the end of the third as well.

it would roll over if they were going to OT. otherwise, no. you're asking for more of a penalty for taking one late in a game and i can't get behind that. |
