Question is, do those three guys help us win the stanley cup next year? Just like to see this organization go for it while our core is not on the back side of thier careers.
Hey, I'm a season ticket holder so I would be happy with years and years of regular season success. Good drafting ensures that. But damn I would like to see a cup in my lifetime. This team is positioned to do that right now.

I would put money on Schultz or Garrison or both ending up here this year.that will help with the PP QB all wee need now is toughness on the D.

What's the likelihood of Gragnani becoming our next Ehrhoff?

I can see it. He needs to work on his give aways though.

I'd be really interested to see the offers coming to Gillis for both Schneider and Luongo. I'm a big Schneider fan but if there's a package that improves us all over then I'd be ok with letting him go. It'd have to be pretty freakin good though.

I would not care which goalie left if we got Nash and CBJs first

I think our biggest concern this year is the second line secondary scoring. We have not had a great second line for as long as I can remember.

Second Round I would like us to pick Scott Kosmachuk from the Guelph Storm. A big body like Kassian who I think has a higher ceiling.

We're not going to get Nash, it would take Schneider, Kesler, Jansen and possibly another prospect and our pick to get him. CBJ is not going to trade down in the draft unless they get a player like Weber, Malkin, Crosby, Stamkos, and the like back.

That's your dumbest post since saying Daniel jumped up into Keith's elbow.

Really... what part of it? Because I'm basing my hypothetical trade based on what insiders said CBJ was looking for at the TDL. As for my thought that they aren't going to trade down in the draft, why would they, they have the 2nd overall pick?

Nash must be better than Crosby and Stamkos... He also must be loving Columbus and not wanting a trade.

And Columbus must really want to get rid of him for nothing along with that 2nd overall pick...

Corey Schneider and Tuuku Rask are RFA's this offseason. In my opinion, these are the only goalies that have the potential of recieving an offer sheet if they are not resigned. Boston's situation is a bit different in that they only have Thomas locked up for one more year, so I would think it is more likely that an offer sheet is matched by Boston than Vancouver simply based on their system depth.

Also to consider, Steve Mason is a RFA next season. Jimmy Howard is an UFA next season. Khabbibulin is an UFA next season, with Dubynk an RFA this season. In Tampa Bay, Roloson is an UFA this season, and Garon is locked up only til next season at 1.3 million.

Outside of Columbus, Detroit, Edmonton and Tampa Bay, I can't see too many teams giving an offer sheet or trading for a goalie unless other roster players are involved on both sides, as a lot of teams either have young and upcoming goalies, too many goalies with big salaries, or have a # 1 locked up.

They could draft a goalie that would take 3-5 years to develop or get one of the best in the game this year.

Nash does not want to be there but no team is going to give away 6 players.

Look for something like
Chi Kane
Wpg Kane
Bos Luc
Tor Kessel Kardri
Van Kesler
Edm Hall Gagner
Ana Ryan
Phi Hartnell +

These are some of the offers CBJs will see for their malcontent.

You are seriously, seriously overvaluing Nash. He's done nothing in this league to warrant all that!

Can someone explain to me why we're picking 26th and 22nd? I thought that picks were based on the round when the team was eliminated and not regular season results or is it some weird combination of the two?

EDIT: found it on wikipedia: The remaining order is determined by the Stanley Cup playoff results.[9] Whichever team wins the Stanley Cup is awarded the 30th and last pick, while the runner-up is given the 29th pick. The teams eliminated in the conference finals are awarded the 28th and 27th picks, with the 28th pick going to the team with the better regular season record. Remaining division winners, then the rest of the field are ranked next, filling in the 26th through 15th picks. In both cases, better records result in later picks.

At 1.2 million this season, I would love to get Jordin Tootoo. He could probably be had for a similar price, and I think he is a guy that knows his role and won't be pulling Dale Weise dangles. I don't think he will be coming back to Nashville.

I wouldn't mind him either but I think he has a lot going on in Nashville .I think he has a carity and a radio show.

I don't think Prust is leaving NYR so McLeod or Staubitz would be ok

He does do a lot of charity work there, but its hard to remain an NHL player and donate those big dollars if you don't have a roster spot. He was a healthy scratch quite a few times in the playoffs, and I think the Radulov thing left a sour taste in his mouth.

I really think the jersey # will be the only dilemma.

I could see him signing with the Jets though, he would easily be a fan favourite and I believe he played his junior in Manitoba.

Good call! Don't know much about this guy but the scouting report is promising:

2011-12: Wilson led the Plymouth Whalers in penalty minutes during the regular season and was the team's second-leading scorer in the OHL playoffs. He had 141 penalty minutes in just 49 games, finishing plus-17 with 9 goals and 18 assists. After finishing first in the West in the regular season, the Whalers advanced to the second round. In 13 playoff games Wilson scored 7 goals with 6 assists and was plus-ten with 39 penalty minutes. Wilson was ranked 15th amongst North American skaters in Central Scouting's final rankings prior to the 2012 NHL Draft.

Will he still be around when the Canucks pick?

- bloatedmosquito

From what I have seen in most mock drafts. Some have him going around 20 and others don't have him even in the first round. I think he is a player vancouver could use. Fights, can score, hits.
