I really think the jersey # will be the only dilemma.
I could see him signing with the Jets though, he would easily be a fan favourite and I believe he played his junior in Manitoba. - kent
Edmonton may get him . |

Who would be the best tough guy 4 th liner to go after this year in UFA? - VANTEL
I don't want a "tough guy" that is useless in the playoffs(Hordichuck) and ends up getting a few shifts per game or scratched. Prust would be nice, but no thanks to the Staubitz/Janssen types. I think we're all getting a little too sensitive here with the "protect the Sedin's" stuff. The Kings look like the best team in the playoffs this year and look at how many times Dustin Brown has taken a big hit. And I'm sure the team got the message of not letting things go too far like last year, I didn't see many Sedin punching back scrums this year, did you?
I'd rather have a 4th line that can basically be like a second 3rd line with versatile players that can PK and play physical. I like players like Derek Mackenzie, Jim Slater, Joey Crabb, David Moss, Tom Kostopoulos, etc. as UFA's this year for our 4th line. |

They already have Eager and Jones, I don't think they need to many more of those type of guys. Need to save roster spots for their young guys. |

As to why I still think Tootoo would be a good fit. He plays good physical hockey and can score the odd goal. |

Carkner and Konopka aren't going anywhere. They both love it in Ottawa. I would be very surprised if they weren't back with the Sens next year.
EDIT: Also, Carkner and Konokpa are UFAs so no need for a trade. |

Last year we had Bitz Weise and Kassian.I would take Staubitz/Janssen over those guys any day.It would have been nict to have someone step in last year when Keith hit Daniel. |

I don't disagree but they have him under contract for 2 more years and they can't be devoting too much salary to the 3rd and 4th lines once Hall, Eberle and Hopkins contracts come up for renewal. |

Vancouver needs to stop getting "provin" players like Sammy Pahlsson and Keith Ballard. We are wasting picks on them. They have done nothing for our team. Younger teams are winning stanley cups. Also giving players a chance. Something AV won't ever do. As long as AV is the coach. We will keep having great winning seasons and quit exits from the playoffs and late first round picks. |

They could bury his contract in the minors

Unfortunately we don't have too many young players to give a chance too
That said, with Kassian, Tanev and Schnieder potentially drawing into the lineup on a regular basis next season, we certainly could have a good core surrounded by younger players for next season. |

Exactly. I am not sure if Garrison or Schultz will be a possibility, but I do have hope with Connauton and MAG. |

I am from Manitoba. Season ticket holder to the Jets I'm still a Vancouver fan. I get to see a couple of Canucks games a year.
As mentioned earlier Jordin Tootoo. Played his junior hockey for the Brandon Wheat Kings. Would like to see him in a Canucks Jersey for sure.
Tanner Glass.... Why did we let him go? he plays 100% all the time. Plays with heart, may not be the most skilled but was a great player for the Jets all season long. |

Glass had a phenomenal year with the Jets. I think he was giving more of an opportunity this year, and in Vancouver his minutes were certainly limited a lot more. |

Is your 4th line supposed to be 50 goal scorers? No. They are your hitters, shot blockers, forecheckers. |

He really was not an effective hitter or scorer , when he played here. Lots of heart not enough skill. |
