No, I didn't envision this team being in last place in the Division at the quarter pole of the season. Regardless of how bad the offense is, Halladay, Lee and Hamels should be more than enough to win a bunch of games. Good pitching beats good hitting 90% of the time. See the 2010 SF Giants.

The problem is however that most teams have at least one major league pitcher and a majority of at least AAA talents. The Phillies offense couldn't hit decent college pitching, so It doesn't matter if Hamels, Halladay, and Lee are studs. Because unless they shut out everyone, they aren't going to win many games.

You can't shut out everybody. It doesn't matter how good their starters are. You need to score to win, which this offense can't.

Right...my bottom line is that Vegas odds should be taken with a grain of salt. I, for one, completely ignore them. They just are unnecessary, in my opinion. Plus, games or seriesezezez aren't played in a computer or on paper. It's cliche, but it's true...anything can happen. That's what I meant by Vegas meaning nothing.

i hate baseball. couldn't pay me to watch a game in may, flyers or no flyers. the phillies end result has been regression 1 step at a time since 08, so they're just following the pattern. honestly, how long can a team win the division? eventually it's going to come undone and with all the issues they have now, from what i hear, it makes sense. and i couldn't give a flying (frank).

i missed the first half of the game, and i've seen it go from 2-1 yotes, to trailing to tying the game at 3-3. been fun. as we all know, my predictions are worthless, but i like the yotes in this one.

I can't deal with the Rags winning with that (frank)stick Tortorella, and I can't deal with a fourth Devils Cup.

i feel sick to my stomach for thinking this, but i'm starting to admire what the devils are doing in these playoffs. i didn't give them much of a chance to do any damage, and yet here they are deadlocked at 2-2 in the ecf. part of me would rather they win the cup over LA should either team advance to the final. the rangers haven't been very good this series despite the deadlock. i can see the devils taking the series. i'd much prefer a devils cup over a rangers cup. in the end, it all (frank)ing blows, which is why i want phoenix to win - but their chances are obviously very low.
