How does Dustin Brown not even get a hearing. He threw an elbow at a Coyotes head last night in OT. Crazy. |

Their "shot" glasses leave a lot to be desired. I asked for a Jäger shot and they served it to me in what appeared to be a paper thimble. I don't buy shots often, so you can imagine my disappointment when they placed that embarrassment in front of me. - funmaster18
thats why you do them before you go out |

What I mean is if Leino really was a 4.5 million dollar player, Detroit would not have traded him for pennies. - funmaster18
He was overpaid (by a lot) by Buffalo and was underpaid in the final year of his original contract coming off that monster playoff run. The Red Wings are not infallible. Leino did a good job here in Philly and I suspect he'll have a much better season next year.

It couldn't get much worse for Ville last year. With the right players around him, he may bounce back. But I still can't see him playing to the level to justify that salary. |

You watch these playoff games and Leino isn't the type of player I want. Best players IMO were Kopitar and Doan. Both are tenacious. Raise hell.
Leino is a PU $$ EE cat. Not tenacious.
The only time tenacious doesn't work is with Jack Black.
JVR should spend some time with Doan and Kopitar. Pay for an offseason training camp which includes eating glass, knife fights, and running through brick walls.
The rest of the Flyers forwards should spend time in camp practicing deflections. All day. Seems to me the best way to score on these elite goalies is to fire a f'ing blast and have it deflect 2 or 3 times. |

I look at Voracek and he will be paid around 3.5M and I think hes two times the player than Leino and hes much younger with higher potential. So glad the Flyers didnt keep Leino. |

I have always liked Voracek. He's a much better than Leino. I thought Voracek and Nash were going to be a premier tandem in the NHL with Jake's passing abilities and Nash's shot. |

I do agree with Homer though Jake needs to get better with his shot. If he can somehow improve that the kid will be a monster. He has all the tools you ask for in a player. |

We are lucky to have Voracek and JVR, IMO. And Simmonds (although he is not well rounded) and Schenn and Coots.
I can't the the rewind button but how awesome was our team after Grossmann arrived and before Bryz got hurt?
That is why I favor keeping the team intact, and making a run for Parise. But don't want to get into that.
Leino is a very likable guy but overpaid.
Maybe Bill can answer this - how serious was the Flyer's interest in Doan a couple years back. I seem to remember his name bounced around. He would also look good next to Giroux in an ideal world.
Fun game to watch last night. Better series than the Devils and Rangers IMO.

Definitely needs to shoot more. Sometimes he tries to do to much with his passing. I don't think he'll ever be that guy who scores 80+ points but I think he can give you 20-50-70 on a good year. |

While Detroit is not infallible, I think they'd try to get more out of a trade for a guy like Leino if he was worth the money he's getting. His stats were really low this year and I'm sure he'll improve, but unless he plays his best hockey, he is getting overpaid. If not by money, then by the term. Leino won that deal all the way around. |

Leino looked pretty tenacious in the Cup Finals two years ago. He was also pretty damn effective in the Buffalo series last year, which is probably what convinced Sabres to throw all that money at him in the first place.

Loved the addition of Grossmann. When he first arrived he was a monster than the injuries knocked him back a notch. Bryz looked like a human wall before he got that stupid chip in his foot. I'm ready for July. |
