Green day and the Offspring are really no more talented musically than Nickleback and they all use pretty simple easy riffs and a narrow variety of chords. The difference is that the first 2 bands write better songs that arent full of cliche bullpoop (see rockstar lyrics for example) they also have a better sound than nickleback. And last but not least, they haven't tried to spew out a crappy pop type sound that nickleback has changed to in the last few years in order to keep selling to the sheep that lap up that pop crap. They stopped using any talent they had shortly after "how you remind me" went stupid crazy big and turned em into instant millionaires overnight. Oh and plus chad kroeger is a giant douche canoe

Two Realistic trade-down scenarios:

1) Edmonton Trades the #1 overall for the #2 overall and the right to swap 1st rounders with Columbus in either 2013 or 2014 (2013 unless 1st overall, then 2014)

2) Edmonton Trades the #1 overall for the #2 overall and Marc Methot.

Trading down and picking Ryan Murray will really put the "in Stu we trust" mantra to the task though.

Thats a statement full of things to discuss... I'll pick two.

1, its not surprising that Clout's threads don't pull in a ton but 2) it is a very good statement on what sells nowadays in the music business, and in media alone. Take someone like Ashlee Simpson, who has zero talent, zero ability and yet people boughts thousands of her albums and sold out her concerts. She didn't even sing live, just sang along with her dubbed in, completely oversampled voice. Take Kei$ha, who can't even sing at all, just has some generic bouncey beat in the back ground and she weaves her way through the song talking nonsense. People watching and re-watchign Rebacca Black's Friday tune has made her thousands of dollars. Outside of music though, I think the viewership of people watching garbage like the kardashians and wonder why? What do they do that is worth watching?

Society is messed up man. I feel for the next generation.

I'm pretty sure the guys from Nickelback wouldn't trade in their lives for any of ours. They've been able to capitalize on their style for years, travel the world while making tons of coin. Am I jealous of them? Parts of it, probably, but to me, when it is all said and done, they'll be looked at as nothing more than a crap band who played the same generic garbage over and over. No one will look back on them and think success, even though our current generation will recognize that they clearly have had it, but they'll remember them as just this.

Yeah, it would be cool if we both became relevant again... Your team has more going for it just with the fan support. Unfortunately us Islander fans have been beat to shat for too long now. Our owner is a few fries short of a happy meal and our GM does nothing and there seems to be no change on the horizon? It's hard to respect inept people.
