A lot of pumped up quotes from Tortorella, in regards to tomorrow's prospects. On twitter, there are several quotes from coach saying "we've finally found our game last night" "Lundqvist will play his best game of the season tomorrow night" "I have confidence in how this team will respond in Game 6" among several others.
He definitely seems confident and upbeat about this situation. - MidnightMarauder
Having watched every rags playoff game I must agree that
game 5 is the first one I have seen where the team really looked
like they did during the season - they really took it to em.
Win or lose, I much prefer watching that than most of these
games where they eke out a win (Hank) in a miraculous and
excruciating fashion. I love Hank but would rather the team win
the games than just him... |

I thought they played pretty well in the game 7's, especially vs the caps |

Yeah they did look pretty good in the game 7s - I guess by then
my brain was fried from watching 6 one goal games in which
I thought they should have been far more dominant. |

Call me a homer, but I think a lot of the Rangers success last night was due to the Devils being awful at protecting big leagues (see game 3 1st round) and sitting back, allowing the Rangers to take it to them. The second the game was tied the Devils got their mojo back and controlled play the rest of the way, which was the whole 3rd period. I think game 5 was just a bizarre game and a flukey one.
And before you say anything about how i'm a troll and am just trying to stir the pot, I also believe that Hanks performance was a fluke and will return back to normal in game 6 as well. |

I think your first part has some validity to it but at worse, it showed the Rangers that by forcing wider gaps in the D due to the forecheck and physical play down low, they can be beat.
On the second point, no doubt. |

First of all, HOMER. I said it. Anyway, I agree Jan. And I said it that night. If the Rangers that played the last 50 minutes of that game shows up the next two games and plays a full 60 minutes, the Rangers will win both games. Also, I disagree that the devils owned the 3rd period. Maybe the :30 span where they scored which was a poor defensive play by the rangers.
LGR....I believe |

I hear you but it goes both ways; us rags fans have had the
unpleasant experience of watching the team sit back and let
the devs swarm all over them rather than turn it on and take
it to them as they did all season. When your team carries the play
you think it's cuz they are great but when the play is taken to them
you think it's cuz they are sitting back. These playoff games have not
resembled the NY/NJ reg season games at all, win or lose,
IMO.
Not to mention that teams tend yo change their style when they
get a lead -rags backed off after they tied it. |
