Lol. Herniated mouth from too much pancake eating.
I'm not one to use twitter, but I sent him a tweet telling him if they win, he needs to eat pancakes and syrup out of the Cup and use that image as motivation.
I hope he does; that'd be awesome. |

I don't see the harm in throwing him in on line 3 or 4 |

Well, I wouldn't mess with what's working, and all 4 lines are clicking right now and have been these playoffs.
He's not physically ready yet to skate with the guys. Our 3rd and 4th lines are grinder / checking lines, so I don't think he'd fit in as well with either of those lines. The last thing I think you want to do in the Finals is bring in a guy who doesn't quite know Sutter's system (or to a certain extent, Murray's) in the Cup finals of all places. Regular season sure, not playoffs in my opinion.
I mean if poop hits the fan and the Kings are down 3-0, or 2-0 with no scoring, maybe you see him. My guess would be Sutter plays Nolan Game 1 and 2 and reevaluates then. If Gagne is ready he may play him game 3 at home. |

I'd agree with you but this isn't just any player, this is Simon Gagne. When you're power play is clicking at 8% and you have the option to bring in a pure goal scorer (I'd say the most naturally gifted scorer on your team) I don't think you pass on that. |

I am concerned about our PP too. As I posted a few posts ago, 13/16 teams in the finals over the last 8 seasons have had at least double, some almost close to triple the PP% we have currently.
The thing is, our PP problems aren't by a lack of skill. Kopi, Carter, Doughty, Martinez, Williams, Brown, etc all can score. It's how we set our PP up with 3 men at the point and 2 men down low, but with no real movement involved besides passes between the 3 that never amount to anything. They do not move at all really. They take a 1 man advantage and turn it into a disadvantage. Gagne won't solve a X's and O's problem.
I mean I'd like him out there though, I love the guy, he's a good player when he is healthy. I just don't think it's the right fit right now. But who knows. |

i expect the goaltenders will decide this series...and brodeur becomes beast the deeper he gets in the playoffs...its gonna be interesting to see if he can step it up one last time at 40 years old...pressure is a non factor for brodeur considering this is his 5th time to the dance...as far as quick goes its a toss up...hes been outstanding this postseason but he hasnt faced forwards like nj has...i think his crab style of goaltending is gonna burn him as we love to go high....as we saw last series vs lundqvist who is also weak top shelf i think we'll figure out quick pretty fast |

It's easy to counter each other with points.
I can say we've played better offenses and defenses than NJ and beat them all quicker than you beat your opponents.
I do agree goalies will be huge factor. I do agree you will look top shelf.
You will say "if we play our best, the way I know we can, we will win" and I will say "if we play our best, the way I know we can, we will win" as well.
Homerisms aside, goaltending will be key as you said, PP/PK will be big, I think one of the big keys almost no one brings up is our 3rd and 4th lines against yours, how they compare. Both our top 2 lines can go off, it's the bottom pairings that I think will have the biggest impact on who will win or lose the Cup (meaning game winners or establishing forecheck and momentum that leads to goals from the top line/s). |

I wouldnt pass it up either.
Gagne would be a sick 3rd or 4th line guy for a game or 2 |

Sure, give me a minute. I'll edit this post with the link.

The only person I can see Sutter taking out for Gagne is Jordan Nolan. Other than that, every other player I think is safe. No, Sutter didn't tell me that pk. This is a "what if" scenario mind you. |

I believe Nolan will be replaced, no way Gagne sits on the biggest stage. Especially since the doctor cleared him.
Game shape? No problem, he has a wicked shot. Who needs legs? Look at what Morris did to Quick.
Basically saying, I want to see Gagne and not Nolan |

Yeah I agree. I like Nolan, but Gagne > Nolan.
This whole topic wasn't if I wanted Gagne in or not, of course I do. It was just whether DL would mess with what works or not and if Gagne is ready to play.
If he is, I'd bring him in. The question is will Sutter. |

Oh I know, any Kings fan would want to see Gagne instead of Nolan.
If they tell you otherwise, they dont know who Gagne is
Will Sutter? Yes I believe he will. At some point |
