Well, I wouldn't mess with what's working, and all 4 lines are clicking right now and have been these playoffs.

He's not physically ready yet to skate with the guys. Our 3rd and 4th lines are grinder / checking lines, so I don't think he'd fit in as well with either of those lines. The last thing I think you want to do in the Finals is bring in a guy who doesn't quite know Sutter's system (or to a certain extent, Murray's) in the Cup finals of all places. Regular season sure, not playoffs in my opinion.

I mean if poop hits the fan and the Kings are down 3-0, or 2-0 with no scoring, maybe you see him. My guess would be Sutter plays Nolan Game 1 and 2 and reevaluates then. If Gagne is ready he may play him game 3 at home.

Well said, he is definitely gonna be rusty and why screw with what is already working. Still though, i think you dress him for at least one game so he gets a ring and can add to the amount of ex flyers who will get a cup ring before anyone in philly does

Or if he's healthy sit him out until they lose a game then throw him in to change things up a bit.

If he's healthy I bet Gagne sees the ice at some point.

He's been cleared medically by the doctors, which is why he won't get his name on the cup if he doesn't play at least one game I think, but I could be wrong.

Just looked up the answer to the question for everyone it turns out the league can grant exception when injury's or other circumstances prevent the player from playing in 42 games or the playoffs.

So I hope for Gagne's health he sits this out and gets ready for next season just to be certain.

Yes the Bruins made sure the NHL granted exception and Savard's name is on the cup.
He also had his day with the cup.

i expect the goaltenders will decide this series...and brodeur becomes beast the deeper he gets in the playoffs...its gonna be interesting to see if he can step it up one last time at 40 years old...pressure is a non factor for brodeur considering this is his 5th time to the dance...as far as quick goes its a toss up...hes been outstanding this postseason but he hasnt faced forwards like nj has...i think his crab style of goaltending is gonna burn him as we love to go high....as we saw last series vs lundqvist who is also weak top shelf i think we'll figure out quick pretty fast
- Xnightwish

You mean you hope. Kings beat the nucks handily and they have better forwards than the devils. Broduer is old and will be beat by the kings strong lines........thats what i beleive........stats say the same but you never know. Quick will outplay brodeur for sure, kings second and third lines should be the difference.

You have more depth, the Devils have a lot more high-end talent though.

well the devils beat the flyers who are as deep if not deeper up front then the nucks (who missed sedin) quite handily, and the devils just beat lundqvist and its not like brodeur was outplayed by a noticeable margin at that

Devils have let in less per game.
- zach parise9

Check your stats, kings have let in much less per game than the devils, a considerable difference

Flyers had a terrible d so this will not be easy for the devils. I like the kings chances but there are alot of point/counterpoints to look at. Devils didnt get to the scf for being chumps, i am excited to see this series.......lets get it going already!

you were talking about forwards not d though, so i made a point that the flyers have a very strong forward corp and well the top lines of florida, philly and rangers had a combined 2goals and 6 assists 5 on 5

Thats a tribute to devils D, and we were talking wins not forwards, philly lost cause they had no D kings D beat the nucks. Kings had the highest scoring offense of the final four and by far the best goals against. Kings should win based on stats. I hope they do and i know all the stats dont matter now, the best team in THIS series will win.

Im betting the kings win the cup with only 3 losses in all 4 series. When was the last time that happened?

Does anybody even give a sh.it in LA? Hopefully LA gets jacked for their team being in the final. I'm sure the lakers being out helps.

Either way LA fan. Enjoy your cup.

i wouldnt count the devils out so fast

not sure you have seen the stat but the devils have faced the 95 wings and 03 ducks who were both 12-2 in the playoffs and as you know devils beat both teams for the cup

im not saying the devils def will win, or taking anything away from LA but the devils are gonna be a much better fight then the teams LA has faced so far and i cant see it being a short series

Hell of a stat! I hope it goes 7 games but LA has been a team that's has looked so great on paper and finally has come together at the right time. New jersey appears to be a team that is overachieving.

LA is just so physically dominating and makes no mistakes. It's hard to believe that they fit this roster under the cap.

its going to be a hell of a series

the devils have given up 2goals 6 assists even strength COMBINED to the top lines of florida, philly and the rangers, and we all know how potent the giroux line was

and the devils have won the cup both times they beat philly in the playoffs

and while i didnt expect the devils to get this far, they way they got here shows that they havent overachieved, the devils pretty much had control over philly and pretty much the same thing vs the rangers where lundqvist stole 2 games

Does anyone care?

Taking bets now: will this be the least watched finals in the last 10 years?
