* Jagr said that he's in no hurry to decide about where he'll play next year, and put the ball in the Flyers' court to determine what direction they want to go in terms of keeping him in the same role on the top line or looking elsewhere. He reiterated that he will not return to the club in a reduced role. - bmeltzer
Tough call. Another year of his leadership and work ethic would sure be nice.

Doan will stay in Phoenix if the ownership seems stable. He's repeatedly said he wants to finish his career there as he's built deep connections there.
If the Phoenix situation remains murky, he'll probably go after a Cup, but may elect to play somewhere closer to home than Philly. It's a tough call though.
I think though that Philly should go out of their way to keep Jagr at a reasonable price. I really think his leadership and presence helped many of the players this past year and would do the same next year. I think he also helped the team cope with Bryzgalov.
I think the biggest/best move Philly could make is to offer Sean Burke a lot of money as the goalie coach if Phoenix lets his contract expire. |

everyone is making it seem that Jagr is the guru of leadership...would i wanna keep him? sure...would he be a big loss if he doesn't re-sign? no not at all...the dude was quite invisible throughout the playoffs too..
agree about Burke...if you have invested so much time and money to Bryz, you gotta get him the goalie coach that made him shine...let's hope Homer realizes the same thing and gets him.

Bill Meltzer: Meltzer's Musings: Jagr, Delco Demons - bmeltzer
I liked Carter and Richards when they played here but I also like the return. I'm also a firm believer that neither player is playing to their capabilities. They were secondary scoring here and they're secondary scoring for the Kings right now. Both totals have dropped off in the past 2 season, when both are 2 young players who's totals should only be getting better. Maybe I am buying into Media hype but I don't think they took Hockey series enough here and these were 2 of our leaders in the locker room. These guys have half of a year to party and the other half to focus on Hockey. If a cop is off duty, they're still a cop. These guys represent the Philadelphia Flyers on the ice and away from the ice (especially during the regular season). You can't be perfect all the time but try and stay as classy as possible when you know you're going to be recognized.
With this said I'll be happy to see Richards, Carter, Gagne, Williams, Hextall and Stevens win it all. I'll be happy for the Kings themselves to win because the organization deserves it. Even Gretzky couldn't do it for them. The Kings are way over due. |

He wasn't invisible in the Pittsburgh series. In fact, the only game where he didn't get a point (Game 6) was probably his best game of the series; and that's the one where he suffered the thigh muscle pull that bothered him during the NJ series. His worst game of the series was Game 2 -- and that's the one where he scored the winning goal in the third period.

I wish no ill on either Richards or Carter but, by the same token, I'm not going to proclaim how happy I am that they're on a team playing for the Cup.
The mere thought of un-clutch Carter hoisting the Cup makes me ill.
The rest of the ex-Flyers, both on the ice, behind the bench and in front office I'm fine with winning it all. |

Best hits of the Playoffs with Schenn getting smoked twice and the Flyers having 2 of their own. Keep your head up Schenn! Great hit by Rhinaldo, would like to see him back in the lineup next year with a short leash and some mentoring. |

Really was. Fully loaded she carried 3000 crew and Marines.
She was decommissioned last year, now kept in Texas. Family kind of twisted my arm to participate in a Memorial Day event. Kids asked about the ship I was on, and I started looking up the old photos and videos. |

My dad was in the service for 26 years. I have nothing but the utmost respect for anyone who has ever put on a uniform to serve their country in the name of freedom. |

Yeah that sucks that he was the victim or 2 crazy hits but to me the only flaw the Brayden Schenn is he isn't a Flyers original draft pick. I love this kid. If the Flyers can stand their ground, I have no doubt a team that features Giroux, JvR, Schenn, Couturier, Voracek, Simmonds and Read will be a force. |

I like both Carter and Richards ... Richards was my favourite player when he played for the Flyers ... I am still a fan! I would love to see all the ex-Flyers get their names on the cup! I hope Gagne can get in some games. I would like to see him come back to Philly so he could retire as a Flyer! |

Maybe Richie, Carts, Gagne, Stevens, Williams, and Hexy will bring the Cup to Philly after they win it like Bourque did in Boston. |

Well, considering that Zubrus is a Devil, you can't have all of them win it this year. I'm rooting for Z. |
