Do you envision him being a 2nd or 3rd pair guy as he continues to develop. - ob18
Hopefully, a good, solid #5 who also chips in a little offense from time to time. The potential is there. |

All those innings takes it's toll after a while. Hopefully, it's something that could be calmed with rest and treatment. - 77rams
Yea but it's not a shoulder or an elbow. It's a back muscle.

It's still early but the Phillies may be selling at the deadline. A change doesn't mean a bad thing imo. - stveshdy
Blow it up.
They have nothing in the farm system. Sell everyone for prospects. Build from the inside out.
They're in big trouble. They can't win with this team. They might not even make the playoffs.... |

I wouldn't be against it. They have to get back some prospects but also some that are ready to play (now). |

The fact Oswalt wasn't signed to give them some innings with Halladay being gone for two months seems to me that they are waiving the white flag this year. Afterall the built in excuse of no Howard or Utley is the card that will be played.
Watching Blanton and Kendrick throw batting practice is going to get old real quick. |

This is the reason I was against resigning Jimmy Rollins in the offseason. They could of moved on from him and after this year Polanco, Victorino, Blanton, etc.
They can move Halladay or Lee.
Need to resign Hamels. Will see what happens with Utley (who has little left). - stveshdy
Agreed. Sign Hamels. That's the first core pitcher. Deal away Doc and Lee. Those guys will get you a huge return. Developed prospects that are MLB ready along with blue chippers. Victorino to a contender could score a good kid also. Keep Pence...use free agency to help as well... Things would at least be looking up at that point.
There is no window for this team anymore. Wholesale changes need to happen. |

I don't know how contracts work in baseball. But apparently lee and halladay have what basically amounts to ntc's In their contracts |

I'm pretty confident Hamels will sign with the Dodgers. All the industry sources seem to think it's a foregone conclusion. |

Their will be plenty of teams buying and the Phillies will have plenty of parts to sell if the GM is willing. A lot is going to depend on the next month. If the Phillies are still within distance they will stand pat but if they falter I'm sure Ruben will make some changes. |

Never. I agreed with Dykstra's sentiment of his trade: "Great trade! Who'd we get?" |

Rollins was a flat out horrible signing.
Hamels will be a difficult sign with the team as it's currently constructed. He may be the one one to move at the TD. Trade him for a third baseman and prospects, then resign him in the off season.
Simple.
