Flyers chairman ed Snider referred to Ilya Bryzgalov’s first season in Philly a "mixed bag." Snider also said that he did not think the $51-million goaltender was prepared for the environment with which he was entering with the Flyers. That is, years of fan frustration over the team’s lack of employing a game-saving goalie boiled over at times when the goalie they thought they were getting in Bryz did not live up to expectations.

Sounds like a bit of both. I think he did struggle with the media. Coming from Phoenix to Philadelphia is like sitting in a hot tub and then jumping in a freezing pool. I think he'll be fine. |

Wow, that was quite an insight in to his mindset. And I dont really have a problem with his reasoning, and now also see why he may not be ready to commit to the Flyers. The guy can still play and produce.
I would like to see his presence back in the locker room, but the cap and timing may be against him. Younger guys are getting ready to take a bigger bite and unfortunately that is off of Jagr's plate.

I don't know if I'm in the minority or not but my opinion is that another year with him is going to benefit the Flyers. He's been there, he's won and he has a great work eithic. If you bring in back one more year the kids will see that again. I understand his reasonings and I don't blame him. I would like to see him back....
Plus, I think he is smart enough to realize, let's in the middle of the year that his minutes will be cut down a little bit because a few kids are coming through. But, then again with the epp and flow of the season, he might benefit from that...
we shall see...

Via Twitter the other night I learned that the Memorial Cup game was going to OT. I decided to tune in and check it out. I could only endure five minutes. The incessant vuvuzela (or other equally annoying horn) sounds were intolerable. How do fans in the building let that go on? |

I muted it to watch the OT. I am so glad the Flyers nipped that in the bud at the beginning of the season last year after the World Cup. It had just started up again in the playoffs, and they'd started selling the stupid horns, the the World Cup happened and they realized what a nightmare it could be. |
