Holy hell those beat LA chants were weak sauce. Not really reminiscent of the beat LA chants that echoed down in 1985 at the Boston Garden, Lakers/Celtics. |

Devils starting to play more physical. Both teams are very good defensively. |

The Devils look like the Flyers. 5 Shots through a period and a half. Weak sauce. |

Nope. Going to be hard to score points on the Eagles this year. Juan Castillo bringing out the real defensive playbook this year. |

--Eddie, would you call that a slew foot??
--No I'd call it more of a trip...he lead with his foot....
There's a difference between a slew foot and a trip?? This is news to me.... |

It's amazing to me what Kopitar is to the Kings. Centers the first line. Starts both the top special teams unit. Pretty amazing. |

I just can't get over the fact that those dumb(frank)s promoted the offensive line coach to defensive coordinator?
Who was that genius??
Don't you think being an offensive line coach is basically the FARTHEST THING AWAY from anything associated with defense??? |

I'm really thinking this is going to be a really boring series. You might as well watch the grass grow.

I was foolish enough to think this would be an exciting series.
so far I'm doing all I can to not fall asleep.

The Kings are all over the ice. Have to give credit here. The Devils have no answer to getting the puck to the net. |

I think Castillo's defensive playbook is actually a Jose Teja's menu. |

I definitely understand that the Kings are just a frickin machine...but throughout the playoffs- not just this game- the Devs' powerplay has been a straight up poopshow... |

The Kings play so well structurally. I especially like how they breakout. The Forwards, especially the Center is down low around the dots, and the D man has to make a 10 foot pass to breakout. Very high percentage. The Forwards really support the defenseman. I like that.

Well unfortunately for us the Flyers have Lavi as coach and we dont play that style. Still like Lavi a lot just would like to see us play better team defense. |

I remember the Flyers played incredible D during the cup run under Lavi. I don't think it involves the system, unless he completely changed it in 2 years. |

I think a lot of people don't realize that if the forwards and defense just raise their awareness a tick....good things will happen.
It'd be amazing what a simple fix- say tightening the gap between the forwards and D in the defensive zone- would do for this team. That doesn't involve tweaking or changing the "system". It just means cramming into the film room more than before. |

-1 for Carter.
One of these years Elias and Brodeur will suck. Probably when they are in their 60's. So (frank)ing sick of this franchise. |
