Im not trying to change your mind.. id have an easier time teaching a dog to recite Robert Frost...
My point is you telling everybody how much "non-sense" it is, is comical. You may find it weak.. but I dont. It is super telling that the two guys who were signed to "life-time" contracts were moved. You say guys can have down years, well I guess the org didnt see it that way. If it was just them having "a down year" you would think they would understand.
You dont think the Dry Island had ANYTHING to do with those two? I couldnt disagree anymore. The fact that it was made known that Lava was disappointed that the two wouldnt participate also means something to me. - jak521
I didn't say anywhere that Dry Island didn't have anything to do with those two. I said the entire team was asked to do it. And we discussed this ad nauseum previously. Want to do it again? I don't. I think it's comical when pure hearsay is posted. I personally don't buy into that nonsense, nor would I be caught dead contributing to what amounts to pure gossip that belongs in the National Inquirer. |

The Dry Island thing isn't pure gossip though, it happened. Also those two refused to participate so that's how the spotlight got put on them for that. |

And what also happened is that it was also known that they weren't the only players that refused to participate. And I don't blame them. |

I'm rooting for the Kings 100%. I can't stomach to see the Devils win another Cup, and three of them they will have gone through the Flyers to do so.
Screw the Devils, their 40 year old goalie, and their defense core that doesn't have anything close to a # 1 or # 2 for that matter. - PLindbergh31
Personally I'm not rooting for either team. I have 1 team I root for that's the Flyers. I'll just how the final is good to watch. |

Since this thread was the first time I heard of the Kane 2012 issue I did a little Googling. I found that gem.

Why don't you blame them?
I do blame them and am upset at their refusal to. For one they were annointed leaders of the team. That means you do what management asks of you and present a unified front and set an example. IF you don't then I can't see how that is conducive to success. |

We discussed this over and over Joe when it first came out. I feel that Management or whoever asked it of the players was out of line to do so. And that the Players were fully within thier rights to decline. And that it has nothing to do with leadership. And it's a personal choice whether to drink or not. |

Could someone council me?
LA was my favorite West Coast Team this year. I watched their games as much as I watched the Flyers and I loved that team. Then they traded for Carter. I wanted Nash. And now that they are in the finals I have a hard time not feeling conflicted. It's like hoping my x-girl friend wins the lottery and gets breast implants. Sure I want to be supportive but deep down it's hard to see. LAs team is still really great but it would sting to see those two with the cup the year after. And I kinda like the NJD a bit too.... they play the game like a team and put it all on the line.
LA or NJD?
I'm thinking, may the best team win and let the chips fall as they may.

I'm really thinking this is going to be a really boring series. You might as well watch the grass grow.

The recent Ed Snider comments are GOLD. There are a lot of fans that are pissed and want him to keep his mouth shut. But they are GOLD. He says it exactly like I see it and with humility. I have a lot more respect for Ed today

In all seriousness, I wouldn't expect anything less from him. What he said was pure class and as the president of an organization like the Flyers I think he acted accordingly. If he's bitter about it then there is blood in the water and when there's blood in the water, the sharks circle so... |

They're both darn purdy looking. I'm waiting until the bathing suit competition to make my choice though. |

I don't think Bryzgalov's playoff numbers were indicative of his actual play. He kept the Flyers in every game of the NJ series and came up big at key moments in the PIT series. |
