I hope the Kings win and I think they will in six. I will be happy for Carter and Richards never though t they should be traded. Although I am happy with the return they got. I woulda made other moves to clear money. |

Im not trying to change your mind.. id have an easier time teaching a dog to recite Robert Frost...
My point is you telling everybody how much "non-sense" it is, is comical. You may find it weak.. but I dont. It is super telling that the two guys who were signed to "life-time" contracts were moved. You say guys can have down years, well I guess the org didnt see it that way. If it was just them having "a down year" you would think they would understand.
You dont think the Dry Island had ANYTHING to do with those two? I couldnt disagree anymore. The fact that it was made known that Lava was disappointed that the two wouldnt participate also means something to me. - jak521
Giroux made it easier for them to move on. If they don't have Giroux in the system, I don't know if those guys, or at least not both of them get traded. I'm sure glad they did trade both though, since it made Giroux the leader of this team. |

Remember when we had all three: Richards, Carter and Lupul?
A little mad that Richards wasn't wearing his shades in this picture. |

I agree. I think 99.99% was made up to get people to hate them. |

Players shouldn't be held responsible if they have their picture taken while out having a good time. So Patrick Kane went out and got drunk and had a good time. Big deal! I've done it a bunch of times, as I'm sure a lot of people have. I don't see an issue with that. And we should also have legitimate proof if players are going to be accused of having off ice fun affect their on ice performance. - MJL
1. Social media is ruining sports
2. I'm sure Philadelphia wanted to hang bobby Clarke and the broad st bullies for drinking all the time too, right?
3. I wonder what year it will be before people stop caring about this topic. |

This is when you know they had too much to drink. Their judgement is impared and we cant have that image for the Flyers organization. |

I hear a face is on the approved Atkins diet plan, protein, no carbs.
The victim was reportedly homeless and was probably stinky and the perp was reportedly on bath salts, draw your own conclusions there.
Why was the leper hockey game stopped?
Because there was a face off in the corner!

I agree certain Media members retread the same story over and over. Then it seems like a problem. |

Let's just say I've heard stories directly from Flyers of the 70s, 80s and 90s that make me glad they didn't have social media and sports gossip sites back then.
A tame example: Bill Flett -- who drank his way off the Flyers after 1973-74 (that took some doing in those days) used to dare people at bars to set his beard on fire. One time, an equally inebriated teammate actually took him up on it. |

I dont care what they do off the ice as long as they are prepared to play hockey during the season/playoffs. |

I can imagine. Seems like more people want to watch "the real lives of philadelphia bachelors" then NHL hockey games. Why people are interested or (even more shocking) surprised that professional athletes party. |

He could say he likes to snack on baby pacifiers and sings sea shanties while in net and I wouldn't care. As long as he stops the puck well enough for the Flyers to have a chance to win, I don't care what he does or says. People had fits because Cechmanek was quiet. They loved Biron's personality until the 3rd period of Game 6 in 2009 when he couldn't stop a beachball during the Penguins' comeback.
All this emphasis on his personality shows me that people are more concerned with whom they like or loathe and less about how little they know of the game. That starts with the local press dopes who would rather criticize a player or goalie for his personality than analyze the game. - Flyskippy
