No doubt about it. Suter playing in Detroit as the replacement for Lidstrom. As well as signing a big free agent deal. He'd be under the ultimate microscope and in a boiling pot of water. - MJL
Not to mention a lousy city. I would rather stay in Nashville. |

Just sign garrison. They should have room for that, and that's all they need. I think you can add 1.5 mil of space in there for schenns cap hit. - Just5
I really think the Flyers should go after Garrison instead of a big name free agent. It wouldnt cost a (frank) ton and would get us another great defender to go with what the Flyers have. |

Hell if that is the case then Weber can be had, for the right price lol. If that is the case I can see Homer calling Polie to see if he can get Weber. Gadddoooshhh |

Meh, it's that time of year for these silly rumors. They get thrown out there to try to drive up or down a player's price. - bradleyc4
Garrioch ranks up there with Larry Wigge, Larry Brooks, and Panotch. |

There's no way Buffalo would give up Myers with the asking price starting at JVR. Any move consisting of Myers would have to include Coots, Schenn, Read +. - KGBflyers10
Just to clear this up...Buffalos asking price for Myers would be Giroux. Period.
Coots???? maybe we could talk McNabb |

Pronger is on LTIR correct? What does that do for you?
Edit: I'm wrong there. You didn't include Pronger so he would have to be added to that total first. I didn't see that at first. - MJL

I have always been the kind of guy that said he liked JVR, but would be okay if he were traded for the right pieces. However, I think right now that it would be a mistake to trade him, unless you can get someone to give full value. After last season, and his new contract, I can see JVR's value being at an all-time low. I would rather hold onto him for 1 more year at this point.
I'm starting to get a feeling like the best thing for the Flyers to do is trade for higher first round draft pick. I think it would be a good idea to get 2 d-men in the first round this year. IMO I would like something like the 10th pick and 15 pick.
Then you can resign Carle and maybe add another modest D-man through UFA. If you can land Shultz then you have 3 possible top D-men in the works. |

Detroit is a great Hockey town. And I'm quite sure that there are some very nice suburban areas for a player to live around Detroit. |

Since he'd have to dress in all 82 games AND average 25-plus minutes of ice time per game for the entire year, the in-season cap hit will drop quickly even w/o the bonus cushion. - bmeltzer
But the Flyers will have to account for the full Cap hit entering the Season. So the point is that the Flyers will not have those Cap savings until after the Season has already started, so it is not available for off season moves. |

8-mile. Need I say more? As far as cities are concerned... IMO Detroit is a dump. Makes Philly look like El Dorado.
This has nothing to do with hockey town or not. But IMO if I am going to live in a big city, it would be one like LA, NY, Philly, or Washington.... Not Detroit. |

Can they waive Timmonen in the offseason to their AHL club and get his salary off the cap number during the summer, then bring him back up when the season starts when they LTIR Pronger, just to free up that space over the summer? |
