I should be more specific the best, big, dumb, slow, somewhat physical American player available.

I've been listening to the last few interviews Trevor Timmins gave, and I really doubt he would draft a defenseman.

I don't think Murray will be available when Montreal picks, but still...He talked about Yakupov today...and Forsberg. Really sounded impressed with Forsberg...

Hell of a coach IMO. I'd love him back in Montreal. People are nuts if they think he's the problem. The problem is an overrated defence, the Sedin sisters stink in the playoffs, Kesler going invisible & Lou being Lou.

Lou didn't lose to the Kings in the playoffs. He actually played pretty well. Does that also mean Schnieder lost it for the Nucks too?

And I have a problem with a coach who would rather spend his practices teaching diving lessons to his players to get on the PP rather than teach them, you know, defense and how to play physical.

Seems to me like all the candidates mentioned since the start of the process to hire have been rather lame. Am I the only one hoping and praying that Bergevin can somehow surprise everyone and pull an unknown rabbit out of the hat on this one?

I am not entirely disagreeing with you but Bergevin was hired because he was the best man for the job and so far, he seems to be assembling a pretty decent management team. Have to trust that the right decision will be made.

Oh and GO MTL PICK FORSBERG!!

A dynamic skater with stellar offensive instincts, Filip Forsberg is a star on the rise in Sweden. At 17, he was allowed to play ten games for Leksands IF in the HockeyAllsvenskan and he even scored a goal during that time. Forsberg has an elusive stride that makes him very difficult to contain. His speed is extraordinary for a player so young. He carries the puck well on his stick and he is very poised. He is not very big but he is very strong. He can maneuver through tight spaces with ease. Forsberg is an offensive threat who has a quick shot, crisp passes and soft hands. He can dangle around opposing defencemen and come in on goal very well. He was one of only a few 1994-born players to represent their countries at the 2011 World Under-18s, helping Sweden win silver after the heartbreaking overtime loss to the United States. Forsberg took the place of an injured Sebastian Collberg and he did not look out of place at all. He impressed many with his slick skating and his great on-ice vision. Forsberg is expected to stay with Leksand for the entire Allsvenskan season and he will definitely become a fan favourite there. He is in need of filling out but that will happen over time.

I still firmly believe that the best candidate for the job is Guy Carbonneau. He didn't deserve to be fired in the 1st place and his knowledge of the game is outstanding.
- iceman2500

I agree he should not have been fired and he would be outstanding. Even bring Robinson as an assistant

Eric Engels: Crawford or Therrien?

If the list truly was Hartley, Crawford, or Therrien, we definitely lost out to Calgary. We will look like a rudderless ship...

Renaud P Lavoie ‏@RenLavoieRDS
Philippe Cantin report that Patrick Roy is still in the running. I have the same info. He met with the Canadiens in the US.

Renaud P Lavoie ‏@RenLavoieRDS
Like the other candidates, Roy will have another interview soon with Bergevin-Dudley-Carriere and Mellanby.

all speculations at this point...but I really doubt Bergevin is down to Crawford and Therrien exclusively at the moment.
