One can only hope. Simply, I'm not holding my breath. What is clear to me is that this coaching search was not about the best person for the job. Just another french puppet to appease the French fanbase and the French media. Congratulations to them putting language ahead of success. - Habsolute009

He was clearly not my pick either, but that's still better than Crawford.
And unlike what you guys seem to think, no he was not out of hockey, last year he was scouting for minnesota.
Maybe that gave him another look at the game, another perspective.
Anyway I have full trust in Bergevin, so if Therrien's his man, then so be it. |

Who ever they select, half the people will whine about it. So who cares?
The important thing is what they do with the line up. - fidopro
What's important is how they perform.
Good thing is they can't really do worse than last year. |

They better do worst. I won't settle for 3rd overall pick again. I want the #1. |

Yo asp, how much whining do you expect when the Kings win the Cup as an eighth seed after Burketard said he didn't want to be 8th just to get molested in 4 games? - AdamFrench
If anyone is dumb enough to compare the Leafs making the playoffs as the 8th seed in the East and the LA Kings, I don't think it's worth the time discussing with that person. |

Well half the fanbase will never get to talk to you. Lou and Dozzer were telling me about some of the calls on local radio It's almost as good as your buddy Marinaro.
"If Kings could do it the Leafs easily could, the Leafs have the best defense in the league"
and so forth, Nash trades at the deadline and such
Oh and...to think how lonely he'd be if he wasn't a millionaire star?

Do they not realize their goaltenders suck and their defense is a collection of overrated pylons? |

No they do not. However I am interested to see if Carlyle can implement a defensive system. That could augment the lack of speed on the back, I mean the Yotes aside from Yandle and OEL are slow but they always cover for eachother when pinching, in TO both guys pinch and all you can see is Grabovski swearing and racing down ice like a madman trying to save their ass |

He can. But he needs Pronger and Niedermeyer to do so... |
