Speaking of drafting players...not looking too good prospect wise in Flyer land according to Hockey's Future:
http://www.hockeysfuture....eam-rankings-2011-2012/4/
23rd out of 30 teams! Ouch!
Strengths: After several years of little depth in their organization, Philadelphia made several trades that rejuvenated their pool this summer. With two potential all-stars at center in Brayden Schenn and Sean Couturier, the Flyers are very strong down the middle. Additionally, the Flyers have excellent depth on the blue line and a large number of third and fourth line forward prospects on the wing.
Weaknesses: Philadelphia is very weak in prospects at the goaltending position. With many young players on the NHL team, there are only the two high end centers among the forwards in the system. Also, there are no high end defensive prospects in the Flyers' system.
Top 5 prospects: 1. Brayden Schenn, C, 2. Sean Couturier, C, 3. Erik Gustafsson, D, 4. Eric Wellwood, LW, 5. Brendan Ranford, LW.
Lost to Trade: Stefan Legein. - aantny88
the hockey news had them listed higher taking into consideration kids playing on the big club |

That's outdated... they just released their updated rankings and Flyers fell 3 spots.

If the Flyers are playing that many rookies I guess the farm system is going to be bare. I rather have those guys up and playing on the big club rather than worrying about being high up on the prospect chart. |

Parise was also a beast in team USA's push for the gold medal in 2010. I think he was 3rd in the entire Olympics in scoring. Carter wasn't good enough to make Canada's roster! - aantny88

Predators GM David Poile met with Ryan Suter on Thursday. Suter will become an unrestricted free agent on July 1, unless he agrees to a new contract before then. "The meetings were very, very good," Poile said. "They were very positive and very constructive." Poile will continue to communicate with the Suter camp on a "regular basis."

Either Suter stays in Nashville or signs with Detroit for big money. |

Matt Reid? and they list Couturier as graduated and not Schenn? - nastyflyergirl
Makes tons of sense doesn't it! Guy leads all rookies in goal scoring and is almost an after thought! |

Not sure how it's narrowed down to two teams already. Minnesota will throw big money at him. St. Louis has a ton of cap space. San Jose may be headed for a make-over. Lots of suitors. |

I don't think he's worth what Detroit or any other team might pay him...depending on the length/term of the deal probably around $7 million/season! Insanity! |

That would be an overpayment. I like Suter a lot but I dont know if I would give him that kind of money. Thats a large chunk of cap space for a player thats not considered an elite defenseman. |

Would that be a band named for a flying device full of helium surrounded by a dense metal? Wait didn't Keith Moon actually give them their name? How ironic! |

When Zeppelin first formed, they actually toured under the name "The New Yardbirds", but it was short lived as Chris Dreja was basically going to sue them if they kept the name. Keith Moon and John Entwistle came up with the premise of the name Led Zeppelin. They said a super group with former Yardbird members would go down like a lead balloon, or something of that nature. Zep's Manager Peter Grant wanted the name to stand out so he dropped the E in Lead, and called the band Led Zeppelin, instead of Lead Balloon. And the rest as they say is history. |
