I'd like to see a healthy Erik Johnson play for the Flyers. That's a pretty good idea. I said this before and I'll keep saying this, I don't see how the Flyers can walk away from Jagr without a back up plan. We want to upgrade the D, correct? That might mean taking from the offense as it is, to upgrade the D. If the Flyers are serious about going after Weber right now (if possible), I think it's a lock they have to give up a player like JvR, Voracek, Read etc. This is with Jagr already possibly not being wanted here. This hole just gets bigger up front to fill a hole on the back end. I think it's very possibly Jagr comes back because the market this summer is weak when it comes to snipers. - roenick97
Wouldn't mind seeing Jagr back, but they have kids who can pick up the slack offensively. I'm not worried about the missed production on the ice, it's the off-the-ice work ethic and commitment to training that will be missed. |

Who though? What if all of our dreams came true and we ended up getting Weber? I guarantee that it will take at least one NHL forward on our roster to get him like JvR or Voracek, maybe even both. Then we walk away from Jagr. That's possibly 3 forwards gone in a weak UFA market for scorers this summer. |

If they trade JvR or Voracek, then I'd imagine they'd make sure they brought back Jagr. |

Not holding my breath on that one.
Guys like Schenn, JVR, Couturier and Voracek could all easily put up better numbers next season. |

talk to people around the Jets -- beat writers, bloggers, whomever. They'll all tell you that Enstrom is the best, most-rounded defenseman on that team.
which also means, IMO, that he's probably close to untouchable. - bradleyc4
I don't think anyone would dispute that he's the best most rounded defenseman on the Jets. That doesn't make him the best fit for the Flyers needs. In my opinion I don't want to get involved in what it would take to trade for him, and then to re-sign him. I want a player that has more size and is more of a shut down defender if were going to invest the assets necessary in that move. If were talking about replacing Carle with Enstrom, the I'm more then fine with that. But not to fill that number 1 hole that exists with the loss of Pronger and Timonen in the future. |

Enstrom would be difficult to pry and he's a left-handed shot. I'd be looking elsewhere anyway. |

Enstrom makes the most sense for the Flyers if they just wait for him to hit UFA and he'll slip right into Timonen's spot. The Jets have Kane, Pavelec, Bogosian, Wheeler, Little and Burmistrov all going RFA in the next 2 summers on a strict budget... chances are good that keeping that young core intact would mean they'd have to pass on some of their major impending UFA's, like Enstrom. No need to deal assets for somebody who will likely be had for free next summer.
If we're talking about replacing Pronger, there are very few candidates who could even come close to doing that. Enstrom is definitely not one of them. |

IMO, the best bet would be Erik Johnson... JvR + would probably get it done. The kid's been a bit inconsistent offensively on some offensively mediocre clubs, but he's big, mobile, puck-savvy, and physical enough, to maybe get to Pronger territory in the near future. Not to mention, he's RH.
Avs probably would prefer to hang on to him, but their pipeline is strong on the backend and weak on the wings. |
