I think you hit the nail on the head when you said that it's too early to tell that Bobrovsky can't be a legit NHL back-up. It's a shame, with the waiver rules, that Bobrovsky never had the opportunity to play in the AHL.

I'd be inclined to let Hovinen and Bob compete for the job. Bryz is on the hook for another 8 years so, unless we are planning on getting rid of him we might as well let the young guys compete and see who, if anyone, pans out. I am curious about an amnesty clause and if the Flyers would use it on Bryz. It is a tough call with only one season under his belt. I hope he is getting his head on straight this summer.

I am up for a Vet to come in, like a Biron, or Esche or even a Marty Gerber...someone to just take the edge off of games, who has had some success in his own right...Let that work for a season or 2 then see where we are in terms of young goalies. bryz isnt going anywhere he is the Man and will be for the considerable future, everyone should just used to it.

There is no way they would use amnesty on Bryz. He was not the reason we didn't beat NJ. Bryz will be here for a long time.

Nothing wrong with Esche in a backup role.

I'd be shocked if there was an amnesty clause at all.

If you can get good value for Bob maybe in a package deal then you trade him and then sign a reliable vet for a little less. Bryz needs to play to play good. As we saw in the middle of the year whn Bob was playing, Bryz was awful. We need a backup that can start 10-15 games at the most.

He was 5-14 in the KHL last year with a 3.30 GAA and .897

No thanks

The Blue Jackets will need to add three goalies this offseason. After Curtis Sanford left for the KHL, the team now has only Steve Mason and Allen York under contract for next season. General manager Scott Howson wants five keepers signed throughout the organization. There's no way Howson thinks that Mason is anymore than a No. 2 and even after York's late-season success, he's still just 22 and needs more AHL seasoning. Thus, Columbus will need to find a No. 1 and two depth guys. The Columbus Dispatch's Aaron Portzline throws out Nashville' Anders Lindback and Philadelphia's Sergei Bobrovsky as potential trade targets. Free agents Columbus could be interested in include Jonas Gustavsson, Josh Harding, Scott Clemmensen and Martin Biron.

True, but that was against Pittsburgh and the Devils, not KHL talent.

Despite his team being severely outplayed and lacking just about any semblance of team defense he managed to have a .905 save% in the devils series. The guy sucks.

What can we get for Bob? 3rd round pick?

Personally, I would rather keep him.

I had a Kings fan (California native) email me today about how sweet the Carter/Richards goal was.

Oh well.

Carter/Richards are very good players that shouldn't come as a surprise. Sometimes a change in scenery is better for both.

Wasn't saying they should. But if they had a chance for a one-time amnesty you would have to consider it at least. 8 more years... Also, he did score the GWG in the last game. I think he played well enough in the Devils series but he was no Lundquist or Quick. Not even close.

So how was Lundqvist in that Devils series?

Better than Bryz. Bryz managed to bring his GAA down in the Devils series but that wasn't saying much. FYI, I am for Bryz being given a second chance next year. He knows what to expect now. Regardless he is not a top 5 or even top 10 goalie in the NHL at this point.

He wasn't much better than Bryz against the Devils, in one game he even gave up 4 goals on 16 shots and I think we can agree the Rangers play with a lot more commitment to defense than the Flyers.
