Yeah maybe Bob has not had enough time in the back up role to tell if he could grow accustom to that role, but in my mind that is unfair. Bringing in Bryz basically solidified the Flyers mindset that he is going to be the go to guy for at least awhile. To subject Bob to the backup role, when the kid has more than enough potential to be a starter elsewhere, is counterproductive for everyone involved. The Flyers would be best served to trade Bob (to a place that can utilize his skill set and hopefully the Flyers get a decent return) and then to go about acquiring a goalie that is used to playing in a backup role (Clemmensen, Mason, Biron etc.).
I also believe it would be a bad idea to have Hovinen be back up next year. Goalies are a rare bread and cannot be rushed to a level they are not ready to play at. While Niko had a spectacular season with the Pelicans, he still needs time and starts in a North American style of play to develop properly. If they rush him up to the NHL level and subject him to the back up role, he will not get the workload needed to reach his full potential. |

Between 6 & 10 - ob18
To move that far up in the 1st round, realistically what would the asking price be? I'm assuming to swap picks in the first round, a roster player off the big club? |

Matt Read would be an improvement on the Wing on the top 2 lines for Phoenix, Ottawa, and Florida. All playoff teams.
And is equal to the some of the 2nd line Wingers on Chicago and Washington. - MJL
Leight, but Read is an upgrade over a few of the top 6 forwards on the Pens too Sullivan, Cooke, & DuPuis all played top 6 at least at times this season, and Read is better than any of them. I'd take him over the Fruit Bat too, but that's a closer call. |

Again. Lets flip it. What is the best player you could get straight up for Read, assuming salaries are a non issue |

I don't really know, but I think he has much more value to the Flyers than he would to another team in a trade. He's a big part of both special teams, can play on any line and contribute, great speed, defensively sound, and has an entry level deal. You just do not trade guys like that. I can't see how they would get anyone in exchange who could do all that at anywhere close to the cap hit. His combo of skills, speed, and low cap hit make him a keeper imo. |

G has the bandages off the wrists. But I think he should have worn a tie to receive his award. |

Sadly, he's already under contract to the SEL team Rögle BK.
