There's a big difference between getting your arse kicked, and not playing hard and not competing. - MJL
Agreed, hence my comment on Parise. |

your not a fan if you dont like Bryz, this room seems to have a hard on over him? - vejim
I'll post again.
On the subject of whether or not Bryzgalov lived up to expectations in 2011-12, Holmgren said, "I'd probably say, no."
I take the GM's word because he's in control of putting this team together. Bryz should be no different than any other player if he doesn't do what he's suppose to, it's only fair that he gets criticized also. I'm not knocking Bryz because I think he will be fine. |

I heard you're not a fan unless you make blanket statements like this one. |

I wouldn't consider Yandle shooting for the moon. Yandle is similar to Carle. With the exception of being RH. - MJL
You miss read my post. I was suggesting not going for Yandle. And/partly because he is a lefty. |

Richards and Carter were apparently in play around the same time. The Flyers could have swung a trade for another non-UFA goalie. I threw it out there for discussion purposes. Just curious how people rate other goalies in comparison to ours. - fnmjoe13
Its a fair question. Thank you for posting, sorry this group of posters can be a bit negative. |

Do you really think management isn't at least considering their options at goal? Or, do you think they are ecstatic that they have that problem solved for the foreseeable future? If you could choose from this list of goalies, would you choose Bryz over any of them?

BTW, all of these guys had better save % than Bryz this past year. - fnmjoe13
This idea is pure NHL12 fantasy. You cant just pick a guy... however.. I would take Bryz over all the bolded...
As for your question... yes, i think the front office is considering their options with relations to the goalie.... the back-up goalie.
They went out and made a big commitment to Bryz. They have let it be known that he is their starter.. their #1 guy. He got a raw deal (maybe it was deserved to a degree, as his play surely didnt help) when he came to a new team in a new city... and that team itself had a total make over and was swimming with youth.
He was bit by the unlucky bug early on having about 15 no way in hell that happens again type double-triple (off the pipe(s)) deflections.. he got in a funk, and wasnt very good. But then he came around and played very well.. and still got poop. So what I think is that the team is hoping and expecting him to come back in Jan-March form. I know I think its exactly what we will see... |

So what defenseman would you like to add? What route should the Flyers take?
I'm not going to rip your suggestion, just curious to hear some of the names you would be interested in and who is actually available based on what you have heard or read. |

I agree with Homers assessment over the entire course of the season, but most people tend to get stuck on what happened early on, and ignore what he did for the majority of the season... If he had been a tiny bit more consistent at the start of the year we would have been looking at totally different reviews... but because of all the hoopla over his shortcomings early on... thats what we remember... not him how he came around and finished.
Quick question: In your opinion, who was the best Flyer in the NJ series? |

I don't think they could have gotten any of those goalies for Richards or Carter.

I posted earlier that Bryzgalov was the best player in that series. |

Eh, I disagree with his comment about Parise. I thought the kid worked hard all game. Otherwise the overall theme of the article is pretty spot on: the Kings kicked the Devils arse last night. Hard. - Scoob

Jonathan Quick helps snuffs out forecheck with puck-handling abilities. The Devils have long been known for their ability to take the air out of the opposition with stifling defensive play that limits space and time. They have also had Martin Brodeur between the pipes for two decades and, not only has he come up with big save after big save during his illustrious career, but his ability to handle the puck often foils the forecheck. That is what Devils have been facing in the Kings’ Jonathan Quick.

The Flyers should be able to find a RH shot from the point. It would be a bonus if they had a player who was a threat from the point on the PP. |

I'm interested in a true #1. Not another #2. It makes no sense to me to sign Carle and then to go ahead and obtain a player like Suter, Yandle, or Enstrom. If were going to get one of them, then let Carle go. And save some Cap assets for when/if a true #1 becomes available. Otherwise I'd rather get a cheaper player in addition to Carle that won't need a long term investment of assets. |

He might be but he makes a solid point. Quick has done a very nice job handling the puck in his own end. |

I'm down with that. Just not sure where your going to find a true #1 (Weber maybe).
Who else is a true number 1? |
