Yep. I understood moving Gagne, he was on the last year of his deal, and wasn't part of the future plans. That makes plenty of sense, taking back a dead weight awful contract in Walker defeated the entire purpose of the trade. - PLindbergh31
I agree, especially considering that Gagne was still a productive player and Walker has not been any help to the Flyers. |

I'd like the Flyers to stay away from Radulov. He seems to be another Zherdev in the making, tons of talent but very questionable work ethic. Quite frankly that is not something I want on this Flyer team. - FreshFlyer
"In the making"??

I guess they would have to spend over the cap during the summer (10%) and then make the roster moves once the season starts.
I personally dont like the move. Jagr looked like a burned out player down the stretch. I can understand if people want to keep him but I'm not one of them. - stveshdy
I believe this move is somewhat as an insurance policy for scoring production. We all hope guys like Coots, Schenn, Read, and Simmonds can duplicate or exceed totals from last year, but it surely isn't a given. However, I still believe his signing is a prelude to trade a forward for a big time d-man. I haven't checked the other UFA scoring wingers, but if Jagr is signed for one year at similiar money with similiar production, I don't think it is overly awful. I'm not in love with signing, more okay, what is the next shoe to drop? |

I'm ambivalent on Jagr. I like what he could bring, hopefully he doesn't over train as he seemed to do this past season.
They're going to spend over the cap in the summer regardless if they keep Jagr or not - Jsaquella
I rather use that money elsewhere. Upgrade other area of needs. The Flyers have forwards that can take on bigger roles. Defense has been the area of concern and the owner has made it known (like last year with the goalie). |

The only thing Walker does is tie up a contract slot, he's buried in Adirondack, at least he's not tying up valuable cap space. |

That is true, but I would still rather have the extra contract slot instead of Walker |

easy now, he could practice as the 10th defenseman someday when Shelley is gone |
