I'm with you, I still think they were good trades regardless of this Kings run.
It truly is unreal when you think about it how Carter ends up in LA with Richards and they win the Cup. It makes the mind reel. - PLindbergh31
The Flyers have a nice young core, LA is about to win the cup and Columbus is a mess |

See, if we had kept Carter and Richards, but somehow gotten Quick and Kopitar, the Flyers would have been right there.

Tobias Enstrom will play the final year of his current contract during the 2012-13 season. GM Kevin Cheveldayoff is in need of some help at the forward position and a top-six center could probably be acquired in a trade that could include Enstrom. This is merely speculation though because it's unlikely that the Jets are shopping the offensive defender. However, it could make for an interesting story around deadline day depending on the team's situation and where the two sides are in their negotiations. Source: Winnipeg Free Press |

I wonder what it would take in a trade.
Of course Flyers already have Enstrom light (Gusty).

I guess it depends. If it were just Enstrom.. Id probably go Read+ or Simmonds+.
I just think JvR, Schenn, Coots, and Czechie are gonna be huge parts of this team in the future, and if I am trading any of them, I want a bigger more well rounded guy.
In a perfect world with out NMC's or NTC's... Danny Boy. |

I think you are underrating Enström. He's small but he's an All-Star caliber defenseman who is also better defensively than you might think. He'd be the ideal heir apparent/replacement for Timonen.
Depending on Enström's signability to a long-term extension before he hits the UFA market next summer, I would be OK with the Flyers making any player but Giroux or Couturier the key to an Enström deal. |
