An education goes a long way. Sadly the Philly school system is in disarray and most of those kids don't have any role models outside of school. - funmaster18
His 22-year-old brother bought a gun and had it in a box in his room. With not only the 18-year-old brother but a 13-year-old in the house. Honestly, the idea everyone can (and in some peoples' minds should) own a gun is the scariest thing going.

Well even if people don't own guns I would advise any parent at some point in their child's life to have a serious talk with their kids about guns.
Here's a good informational link for anyone reading this and are concerned. I will say that i think rule Number one rule should be, "Always treat a gun as if it is loaded" Have a good day.
edit here should be that link now http://www.nrahq.org/safety/eddie/infoparents.asp had wrong link up there first try that one, other one was more for actual shooting range practices.

The parents are the first problem in a lot of these cases.

The idea of no one having a gun because the law doesn't allow it is the scariest thing going.
Laws don't stop the criminals from carrying a gun.
The lack of understanding the power of a gun and the poper handling is what is at issue here.
A gun isn't a toy and should never be handled as such.

I'm pro-gun but my other gun enthusiasists can at times get mad at me because no not everyone should own one. Typically they do a background check on people and from what you are saying that 22 year old is in violation of something for allowing the weapon to be within easy access of a minor or someone not suited to handle a firearm. Also not everyone should be behind the wheel of a car however you have to demonstrate proficiency at least before being licensed, same should be with a firearm imo anyway. Okay I'm really out now have a good day all.
Edit a lot of what I just said depends on the laws in your state.

We do want links if there's a rumor or a trade, just so we don't have people trolling and flaming with fantasy.
We'd be happy if discussions or arguments from months ago were allowed to exist in their original threads rather than being resurrected after going stale and rancid.
And if it's more than a sentence or two quoted from elsewhere, a link, which protects the copyright of the source material, would be preferred. - bodiva88
Someone mentioned about other teams giving him more money.. i just simple said that he has said in the past that it isnt about money.
Anyone who is caught with an illegal gun should have their head chopped off. Problem solved. America is too nice with its laws.

Dont wanna hurt the criminals feelings.. So make sure they all have great AC, a hot meal 3 times a day, plenty of reading material, and potentially gaming systems to keep them occupied. God forbid a rapist has to suffer.
eh that's sad indeed. However playing with guns is a most ill-advised practice.

Guess he got the wrong idea about Chat Roulette... sad.

Just ask flyer nutter. Or rather, the girl he ran over like Matt Carle taking a body check.

Could NOT agree more.
Now, back to hockey.
Someone made a comment earlier about players not making personnel decisions. I agree to a point, but sometimes players opinions should carry some weight. Especially when those players are good soldiers and team mates. And especially when a large majority as has been reported speak on the matter.
Just as I imagine behind the scenes not one Flyer was too enamored with the thought of bringing back Zherdev. And the organization would HAVE to take that in to account when making decisions.
Jagr contributions to this team went way beyond goals and assists. He had such a noticeable influence on this team. You could see it in how the kids played. Hartnell, Giroux, I really think he probably had a hand in keeping Bryz from completely imploding. The guy is nothing like advertised by his critics, and everything as advertised by his fans.

Leave it to the mod to bring up a hot political topic that has the chance of burning down this thread....
Actually, she isn't the one that brought it up. - funmaster18
I think she is the one that provided the opinion about people thinking that everyone should own a gun is a problem, which is the political issue... not the fact a kid killed himself.
