Theo could possibly block the deal but with NTC but they could always waive Clemmenson and use Theo as a backup if it came down to it
I was hoping the Leafs would be front runners but Florida seems like it could be the perfect scenario for Lou and his family |

I'd love to see him go to Florida, him and his family would be very happy and they're an up and coming team that made the playoffs. With the additions of Huberdeau and Luongo, they'll surely continue being a playoff team!
As for the return, I don't like the idea of trading our first. Even if it is the 26th pick, we're short on talent. You can still pick up good players later in the draft if you know who and what you're looking for. Jensen IMO is going to be a heck of a player and he was picked up at 29th last year.
I'd like to see one of Petrovic, Robak, Howden or Bjustad coming back our way. |

Sounds fair but financially, would FLA be allowed to take the big contract?
They already have B.Campbell on the books, can't see them being able to afford this one too. |

According to capgeek they have to spend roughly $18 million dollars just to get to the cap floor. I don't think they'll have any issues what so ever with his cap hit! |

That 4th round pick will turn out to be better then Schenn and Kadri. |

Just a guess...but I'd say Luongo would prefer to go to Florida if he's given a choice. Which he will be given. Playoff team with some great young players and it's home for his wife and kids. |

I think Luo craves the spotlight, and would want the attention a market like Toronto would bring. The chance to be the undisputed #1 and help bring the team to the playoffs.....Fla has Markstrom marinating and that situation seems alot like Vancouver with Schneider....
Truth be told who knows what Luongo would prefer??? FLA has that no tax thing and his wife is from there..... |

Wow. Most Leaf fans seem pretty high on Scrivens, and for good reason. I'm surprised you would include him in a proposal. Canucks don't really need him, though.
edit: swap out Hamilton and Scrivens for the Leafs' 2nd. |

I think he wilts under pressure so I'd have to disagree. I think Toronto is the worst fit for Luongo.
You guys should go out and get a young goalie like Bernier who can grow with your core. |

If his wife says she wants to go home, he is going to Florida - Trejetta
What do you mean if she wants to go home?
I thought she never moved to Vancouver and stayed in Florida so she could be close to her family while he is on the road all the time.
Hopefully this will increase the return we can get for Luo if more teams are showing interest, just don't like the first round pick going back. If we are going to package anything with Luo, would like it to be someone that helps clear up more cap space for us. Send Ballard back? Raymond? |

I like Scrivens, but dont see him as elite talent, He may become a #1 but I see him as a career quality #2.... and unlike most leaf fans I am aware you do have to include some form of talent going back the other way.... |

I respectfully disagree, I think he's sick and tired of the spotlight. I've watched his interviews almost nightly over the past six hockey seasons.
I believe he, like most any player, wants to win a Stanley Cup. His chances of making the playoffs are much better in Florida than they are in Toronto at this point. Don't take that personal, it's not a slight against you or your team.
Markstrom is only 22 years old. In four years when he's paid his dues like Schneider has I can see him taking over, that gives Lu four years there. Which is about what I can see him playing, four or five more years. |
