You know i wouldnt put it past that whiney little JVR..Just like going to NH. - Philly1980
Very true. The Flyers have not had a great relationship with his family ever since they drafted him in 2007. |

Why is Nashville willing to trade Weber? My thought is the Flyers are willing to also part with Schenn in this deal if it were to happen. |

not sure why anyone in the org. would even tell jvr he was traded, thus giving him time to scheme.
maybe a deal is done and they want to wait for the surgery to be deemed succesful and he really has an infection thus slowing up the deal.
jvr has no say where he goes. |

How bout a package from the Rangers that included Stepan, Staal and Kreider. Would that be a fair package for Nash? - PLindbergh31
It's a better package. But I feel that Columbus needs a marquis player on the team to help fill the seats. |

All I was told was that they don't have the money to sign him right now given what he's demanding. |

I'm hesitant to discount anything Eskin reports, because he knows everyone and he gets dirt. Doesn't always come to pass, but he's got balls and sources. |

JVR is refusing to get surgery even if he stays with the Flyers. That's the problem. |

Oh quit playing into him.. His source at NHL12 wishes to remain anonomous (sp?). |

I have no idea whether what your saying is true or untrue. All I know is that when your joe schmo who claims to have a source that you can't reveal, will never come off as being credible, and tends to make a person look foolish. So why say anything if you can't share the source and offer proof. It's just opening yourself up to criticism.

Makes sense. I'm just not sure why Nashville wouldn't let it be know around the league this way teams overpay and they cash in bigtime. |

I'm not sold one way or the other. It's a lot of moving parts, but past history of the reporter and team tell me there could be fire to the smoke. Right now, it's an interesting topic of discussion, no more. |

No I dont. However, Richards and Carter were already signed to long-term cap friendly hits. You dont just change course unless there's issues imo. Why even shop those guys around? Like I said I dont believe a word Homer says. - stveshdy
Who says he shopped them around? Maybe LA and Columbus approached Holmgren. And yes, if you feel your team isn't going to be good enough, and have other issues such as Cap and Prospect issues. You do just change course. A GM can change his mind overnight on the direction he wants to take the team. Not to mention when the team owner is giving a mandate on what he wants done. |

I don't understand why this was brought to the attention of everyone. Why would Eskin just throw it out there without having any info? Not saying JvR is going to be traded but theres something going on. |

To get web hits and attention. Eskin likes being the center of attention. It's why he's had the success he's had. |

Hey I'm not going to argue. We see it differently. I don't trust anything Homer says to media/public. His plan is something that he won't discuss with others outside the organization. |

My conspiracy theory is as follows:
Homer is secretly working with howson to artificially increase Nash's trade value. This will cause the rangers to go all in on Nash...which will in turn destroy the rangers...
Homer is using the above to artificially raise the value of JVR, thus getting weber...
I think we can all officially call Homer the "godfather" of the NHL.

I agree MJL. I doubt a GM that was shopping 2 players would almost break down in tears when the trade happens. To me it sounded more like something that he didn't want to do, but had to. Like being offered something he couldnt refuse. |
