A pretty bad troll attempt, if I do say so myself... - Giroux_Is_God
Gotta be hard to know what core players are when the Leafs' "core" players are Kessel and Phaneuf. Yikes. |

Does anyone seriously think that without Carter and Richards the Kings couldn't have won the cup this year? Just curious. |

Without those two the Kings don't even make it out of the first round, imho. |

It's odd with them.
I think they "could" have, based on the talent on the team pre-FrickandFrack, but I don't think they even make the playoffs without Carter. It did a little more than make them deep. That deal definitely woke them the (frank) up, I think.
Am I saying Carter "made" this team or carried them? Not at all. I think it was the shakeup moreso than Carter himself or his play. |

Without the Kings sucking for most of the year, they dont' fire their coach.
Without the Kings sucking for most of the year, they don't make a desperate trade for Carter.
Without Carter being a mopey dopey in Columbus, the Jackets don't look to trade him to a desperate Kings team.
Without the "Trade Brown, make Richards captain" rumors once Carter got there, Brown never catches fire?
Bizarre. The one constant on that team all year was Jon Quick. |

there was exactly 1 goal scored between the two of them, i don't quite see how what you said is so based on that. |

my favorite moment of this past hockey year still has to be at the draft when homer rushed up to the stage after the jets had drafted mark schifilie thinking to himself "SUCKERS!!" with a look on his face like he stole something |

I'm really looking forward to the next two decades of Sean Couturier's career as a flyer. |

I don't know what healthy adult male isn't stronger (for sake of argument pro-athletes at least) in his mid to late 20's then when he was 19 but yea A little bulk and some more speed will make him that much better. |

I think it's all in the intangibles listed up above by others, a chain reaction of sorts. I don't believe most of that would have happened without the two ex-Flyers, perhaps not making the playoffs.
