btw...kinda feel bad for Bernier last nite. this was the best stretch of play I've seen from him. for the most part, he played fast, aggressive and hard on the puck.
anybody know...???
is Matt doumba still highly rated (top 10) in this upcoming draft? should he be a target for the flyers?

has bigger, stronger, defensive oriented with great goaltending like LA and BOS replaced the skill, fast-paced, transition style like PIT or CHI ? |

The Kings are similar to the Pens IMO. They were bad for a long time, got good draft picks, have a lot of players on ELD and were able to make trades for role players because of their cap space. Kudos to them. - Jimmygrazz
This is the part that is bothering me. Maybe the Flyers should be bad for the better part of a decade and stock pile picks. The next Penguins is going to be the Oilers. It's just so frustrating seeing good teams consistently like the Red Wings win Stanley Cups and dreadfully bad teams like Kings and Penguins win the Cup. When will we get our Cup? Just so frustrating. |

Its very frustrating but atleast we have a young core of players who look like they could be special. All the Flyers can do is build around that core and try to make a successful run for the cup. Add some pieces to the current roster and try to stay as healthy as possible. We all know that all it takes is to make the playoffs and anything can happen. |

I think unsustainable (lucky?) goalie play has been the main culprit. |

Hardly recognized him with so little hair. But got weepy at this. Good thing he didn't drop that baby. - bodiva88
Got a little teary myself when Gags grabbed the cup. I'm really Happy for all the ex-Flyers who bled for our team and got a chance to pick up that trophy. It's a tough business and you can't keep everyone you'd like to on your squad. But like to think when they sacrifice enough for your team, you can be happy for them wherever they go, because for a time (however brief) they bled for you.
Good job boys, but next year it's on again! |

They Flyers have the equalivent talent in forwards as LA. The Flyers just have to be patient and let them develop into key players like Brown, Richards, Carter, & Kopitar. The only things we are missing is A young defenseman in Doughty, and a young goalie of Quicks calibur. But our forwards are deeper then LA's, which is why I think we should get a young guy that will be a number 1 D man in 2-3 years.
I think Bryzgalov will be fine, and our team is good enough to compete for the next 2-3 years while they develop into a stanley cup worthy team. |

The Flyers have some of the best young players in the NHL. We had 2 that could have been up for the Calder this year at least. The Penguins got two players of Generational talent in 2 consecutive years as a reward for sucking. They've won One cup because of it. And have you seen the Oiler's D? I would not trade teams with Edmonton to save my life. They got a long road to hoe while we have just as much youth & talent as well as Veteran play. |

Edmonton could easily trade this year's pick for solid defense. They could probally get 2 solid defenseman for it. 1 young guy with potential, and 1 above average vet. If they wanted to they could trade for another 1 or a goalie too, and they would still have those generational talents.... |

"The only "lesson" for Flyers in LA's Cup win is the continued faith Kings showed in goalie Jonathan Quick after some rough past playoffs."
Haven't the flyers already missed that lesson after giving up on Bob?

Ek is saying Parise is top of the Flyers list. If that is true, then that definately means they are trading for a defenseman. There is no room for Parise on the current team. I think Weber might be a possibility. |

For those suggesting it, there's no doubt they could make it work cap wise, although it would be tight.

If Parise decides to come here, I could see him jumping ship. |

I'm sure the Flyers could sign Ryan Suter and go on to be a perfectly good team by not giving up assets but I really believe the Flyers should focus on going after a big fish like Weber. Think big. This as big as you possibly can to get better. |

I think Parise lands elsewhere. I'm not expecting to see a big splash this summer. |

The Flyers want either Weber, Suter, Parise, or Nash, and want to make a huge splash. |
