I would love Yandle, but I think Pitt is going to trade Staal for him... I dont know if we can match that price, and if Yandle would be worth it.
What about Myers? Do you think JVR and Coburn plus picks could land him. He is signed long term to a reasonable cap hit. - RooNosHockey
Trading a forward and a good seasoned defenseman is not worth it unless its for weber. |

Man. Colorado only has 6 forwards under contract. Though they have 6 RFA's only 2-3 of them are good. I would sure like to see with we can pry E.johnson from them. |

They gave up Shattenkirk and Stewart for Johnson I believe. I'm sure they would want a lot back in return. |

I really think we are close. However, I don't think 1 key move puts us over the top. I don't want to see any of our dmen to get moved. I understand it takes some to get some, yet I like the core. If we can add to it, then go for it. Resign Carle, Jager, Vorechek and try to add Suter. If not Suter, the next best Dman. Leave the team alone. When Kimmo and Hartnell come off the books next year, we can add two top guys and then move someone else. Also, I love Nash, but no. Unless you trade Harts. Which I would try to sign him next year for like 3 years. It seems he has finally grown up |

HOLMGREN PRESS CONFERENCE
This morning after the Kings Cup Win, Flyers General Manager Paul Holmgren held a brief Press Conference. He was asked one question by Flyers insider Tim Panaccio before concluding the conference.
"Paul, How do you feel about watching such former young Flyers such as Simon Gagne, Mike Richards, Jeff Carter, Justin Williams, Ruslan Fedotenko, Patrick Sharp and Ben Eager."
"We won't be trading anymore young players. If our young players are destined to win the Stanley Cup, it will be here as Philadelphia Flyers. We will no longer be handing out Cups to other teams"
In all honesty, this Cup Win for the Kings I feel could only be used as a motivation tool to better the Philadelphia Flyers. If a player such as Weber is available, we gotta push hard for him and finally get over the top. We have a really good team. We may only need one key move to get over that hump.
Congratulations to Simon Gagne, Jeff Carter, Mike Richards, Justin Williams, Colin Fraser, John Stevens and Ron Hextall. - roenick97 .
LOL i thought homer was in Nashville trying to trade JVR away. |

I want Weber as much as anyone but not at the cost of Giroux, JvR, Schenn or Couturier, which might be impossible. I'm really wondering how negotiations are going between Weber and the Preds.
I look at JvR and think to myself "versatile player". Maybe JvR will never turn out to be the Power Forward we all have hoped but I also think he might be able to snip the same way we watched Gagne do for years. |

I don't see why JVR can't become a player like Hossa or Elias. |

Hossa is a comparison I've never thought of but that's a perfect example. Hossa has a large frame and could push players off the puck from time to time like a Power Forward but does he play the Power Forward game like a Rick Nash? I don't think he does but Hossa does have flashes of playing the Power Forward style. |

Yeah but then what after Jagr and Briere move on? Hartnell had a great season but I think his production could go either way. Up or down. |
