so you believe he'll sign for something in the range of 5M then? which would make him overpaid by a little - kinda like Grabovski, but with better dives? - BorjeFan4Ever
I have to agree...and I hate Roy diving, such a bush league move and when a real penalty should be called a ref will overlook it because of that rep. |

I think Toronto would look at Marleau and Getzlaf. - LA_Kings6720
Both Buffalo and Toronto... and many others are seriously wanting to deal for any available 1C.
Marleau, Thornton, Getzlaf, Stastny, Staal all come to mind. |

Grabo is 27... Roy is 29..
Roy has had seasons of 63, 81, 70, and 69 already in his career.. he is quite a bit more deserving of that kind of contract that Grabo is. You can talk about dives all you want.. but at least Roy has produced major points and is much more worthy of that kind of money.

however, if roy gets his game back next year he'll be looking at a rasie from his 5.5million |

I do.. and i totally agreed with you from the very beginning that it is the market.. and not the talent of certain players that determine their value...
Leino is the biggest showing of that... Richards was the alpha C on the market.. then Connolly and then Leino last year... we didn't get Richards.. we didn't want Connolly.. so we went to the next guy in line and got BURNED.
The only reason why Pegs or whoever even wanted Leino is because Leino had I believe 3 GWGs against us in 2010 in the season/playoffs and a few more goals to boot. he didn't realize it was just because of the talent around Leino. |

I would assume SJ would obviously not take money back in return (to try and pry Nash out of CLB) so it would have to be a pick and or prospect....I dont know, I just dont see SJ getting Nash. I think other teams have way more to offer like Lucic from Boston.
Lucic > Pavelski
Cause they arent getting rid of Couture |

Roy getting his game back might be the best thing for both... because I think his lack of size really hurts his lack of two-way playing.. Buffalo tries to put him into a 1C spot and he is just a 2C player regardless of where he is. He is actually decent on the PK at times too. |

WHOA... Why in the hell would Bostin deal Lucic!!?? I probably hate him the most out of every NHL player but I give him props because he can pot goals (20+ a year I think).. play D.. and no one can touch him in fighting either.. |

Who would Chicago even offer up if this were the case?
This statement is confusing then |

I personally think that the Sabres might have some of the best positioning to make a trade or two at the Draft...
They have 2 1st round picks in the 12 and 21st picks.. they have 2 2nd rounders and 2 3rd rounders if I remember correctly..
They have a plethora of depth on D to trade now that D Sulzer has come back... most notably Sekera who is a puck moving young d-men signed to a cap friendly deal for the next 2-3 years. He impressed at the worlds this year... look it up if you don't believe me. Mike Weber a solid hitting d-man could also be dealt as a young project much like Butler was.
We also have rental players to dump in the forms of Roy and Leopold.
We have young talent to boot such as C Luke Adam, F Nathan Gerbe, D Pysyk, D McNabb (even thou I would HATE for him to be traded), and D Brennan
let the fireworks begin. |

Calling someone dense and telling someone to pull their head out of their ass are two different things.
Who said Vanek wasn't overpaid?
Burrows plays a completely different role than Grabo, same with Vanek. - mfreedman
They're both insults and name-calling with no justifications.
What did I say? I would take Burrows and Vanek before Grabovski as i would have picked a better first line center than him. Are you moving the goalposts here? Now you want to say for specific roles? Then I could give you 20 teams (or so) on which Grabovski would not be a first line player. |

Nash > Lucic......But that is my opinion. - LA_Kings6720
Thats tough... I really like Nash too.. I think he is a very underrated two player actually.. he has very good stats on a horribly sh!tty team but people criticize him for not having phenomenal stats because he makes 7.8. If he wasn't centered by guys like Voracek, Huselies, Vermette, etc then it would be a different story.
Lucic at 4.01M though.. and 2 straight 60 point seasons.. IDK that is tough. |
