Not to sound like that typical leaf fan but if they land everyone they are into according to three rumor chart hudler, nash, penner, lu, parise we can definitely make a deep run but Burke needs to have a magician with the cap and catch everyone sleeping with their pants around their ankles .... after almost 50 years all we have is our dreams now - shill-17
Problem is you do sound like a typical Leaf fan when you start speculating on a "deep run" based on the signing of all top free agents and a Vancouver giveaway of Luongo. Pretty easy to figure out why sp many laugh at us. |

Hi Eklund. I heard the Leafs are prepared to give up Gardiner, Schenn + 1st for Luongo, however the deal is being hung up because Brian Burke's wife is leaving him.
I also heard another rumour regarding Luongo. Apparently the owner of the Canucks, Aquilini, and his wife are splitting, rumour is Luongo is the reason the two of them are splitting. - Scooby_Doo
I know it's a joke, but you are the only one who actually thinks a team would give up this much for Lu. |

Explain how Schneider is unproven. In his first two seasons his record is 36-12-3, with a save % .933. Draw whatever comparison you want, if you think he's unproven than you haven't watched him play. He's beaten the best teams too. When Luongo fell flat, Schneider won 13 out of 15 games. That's not unproven, that's an elite goalie playing less games than he should be. - lkeh73
If you're talking about this season...only about 30% of his games were against teams that finished in the playoffs, and one only one of those games were among his last 10 of the regular season. Face it, Luongo was left to do the heavy lifting and was scapegoated when it was convenient. |

I cant see them giving up that much for a goalie that is passed his prime. - Oilfan19
Goalies have a much later/longer prime then most players do. Look at Brodeur, Hasek, Roloson. |

Doesnt matter, you may get a 1st and a mid prospect and thats if burke is drunk. No chance you get both gardiner and schenn and a first. I hope it was a pathetic troll attempt. |

Agree with the bolded.
The underlined is the important part. Who says he will be given the deal he feels is right for him in NJ?
With $ tied up in Kovalchuk, the new emerging Henriqu playing top line minutes, an aging goaltender, your most recent top pick playing 1st line minutes on D, its going to be tough to get Parise for the value they want.
Who is to say that some team doesnt offer more, and Parise opts to take the $ because it is also high on his list? - mfreedman
Again, never said signing Parise is going to be a slam dunk. The simple point is only that this is Zach's primary choice, he loves it here, and would love to stay. This proves all of the "Zach is unhappy" stuff wrong.
...that's the point.
And, as far as getting the right deal from the Devils, they're already paying him 6 mil this year, there are reports of new investors for the Devils, they made over 32 million dollars in the playoffs, all combined with Lou saying "Zach's a Devil" and Zach's desire to stay...as a fan I feel good something can be agreed to. |

That's up to them. Pretty sure they've both said they have no problem coming back as a tandem. Taken at face value, of course. - lkeh73
