Definitely not overpaid. We paid him $5.5.. Right now it is a bit overpaid, next year it will be about right, and by the end of the contract he will probably be underpaid. Grabo is a work horse and a HUGE asset to our team, plain and simple.
You should not be speaking about overpaid with Leino on your team.
I am a HUGE grabo fan, and I was happy with the contract we signed him to. - mfreedman
Seeing as how I personally had a hand in the signing of Leino.. and it was my idea for the length and parameters.. I should just tuck my tail and walk away..
Phaneuf is an over the hill, hard hitting tough guy, with a hell of a shot, with diminishing defensive skills IMO.
What the trade value for him would be depends on the team's need that he would be going to.. |

Hi Eklund. I heard the Leafs are prepared to give up Gardiner, Schenn + 1st for Luongo, however the deal is being hung up because Brian Burke's wife is leaving him.
I also heard another rumour regarding Luongo. Apparently the owner of the Canucks, Aquilini, and his wife are splitting, rumour is Luongo is the reason the two of them are splitting. - Scooby_Doo
Does this mean Lu will be a Quarter owner of the Club?Maybe then we can trade AV |

I can deal with that
I figure tht Philly owuld be a good place for Phaneuf, if Pronger could mentor him (that would have to be conditional on the trade happening for you guys) |

On Luongo, one issue is whether he really wants out or it is more that he is willing to agree to a trade if the team asks him. If it is the former, then he likely has to be moved. He may well have had it with how hard the city is on him.
I think Gillis will be getting a sense of the market for both guys but would only move Schneider if the deal was just so great he could not turn it down. Otherwise, he'll take what he can get for RL, which I don't think will be a motherload but won't be as meager as the toronto sports network guys seek to shade it as they do their bidding for the Leafs mgmt. I'd say 60% chance RL is traded, 30% chance CS is and 10% that at the start of the season they are both still in Nuck unis, at least for the time being. With the new CBA still tbd it is not out of the question that if Gillis does not get the offer he wants he'll wait to see what the provisions of the new CBA offer.
I still predict that Luongo ends up in Tampa, somehow. |

his skills show otherwise.. he was never a great d-man.
at the age of 27 his d skills have diminished already.
Much like we have with Regehr. He is just a tough guy who can lay the body now. |

Not to sound like that typical leaf fan but if they land everyone they are into according to three rumor chart hudler, nash, penner, lu, parise we can definitely make a deep run but Burke needs to have a magician with the cap and catch everyone sleeping with their pants around their ankles .... after almost 50 years all we have is our dreams now - shill-17
exactly. signing those five alone would likely require 26M against the CAP.... there is the existing and remainng members of the roster to think about...
and in what world/dimension/on what planet - does Brian Burke sign Jiru Hudler?
Leafs issues are well recognized... signing a small, largely difficult to motivate guy to what is likely to be an inflated contract isn't BB style... and Hudler's not American.
while BB may want Nash and want Parise, even in a perfect world he could only manage to get one... and that's assuming that either one really would want to play in Toronto.
Eklund, please take the Maple Leaf off the Hudler rumor chart entry. I don't care which one of your sources you got that from, its just crazy. |
