What happened to the infected toe that was holding him back from the surgery? Now he doesn't need surgery? The Flyers are terrible at reporting injuries. Good news that JvR is healthy. - stveshdy
yet great at mis-information. there always seems to be a smoke screen coming from our front office |

van Riemsdyk said that the foot is still infected, my guess is that he got a second opinion on the hip and it was decided that rest and rehab would correct the issue without surgical action being taken. - Jsaquella
Let's hope that ,that second opinion is correct.

The 9-11 Memorial in New York City. Mark Bavis and Ace Bailey were two Kings scouts, who were on one of the hijacked planes. |

Interesting. The Flyers say one thing and the other doctors say another. I'm glad hes healthy and doesnt need surgery just wish we all could get on the same page. |

Absolutely. Of course, there may have been a lot of swelling or something that made them delay and when it went down they saw only minor issues.
I just want to see him healthy and raring to go in 2012-13. |

As long as the docs are right, that's my only concern. They could have found something on a second exam or MRI that showed the initial diagnosis was wrong or that after swelling went down, the damage was not as serious as first believed. |

I just find it funny that just a couple of days ago they said he was waiting to get the surgery b/c of the infection in his foot. Now all of a sudden a miracle happens and no surgery is needed. Crazy imo. Good for him that he doesn't need surgery but I hope that hip holds up. |

At this point you are absolutely correct. I no longer believe anything that is being said. The only time I didn't want something to be true it was ( The Pronger season ending injury). |

The point to keep in mind is that it was just announced today that JVR won't need surgery. Holmgren said that the infection was keeping the surgery from happening. At the time that may have very well been true as far as Holmgren knew. The player has final say what happens. Things change. Diagnosis and treatment options change. Doesn't mean anyone wasn't being forthright.

Agreed. I still don't know if I believe Homer when it comes to anything. The guy has a poker face that you can't read. He makes you believe one thing when really its another. Only a week away from the draft and I'm very interested to see what the Flyers do. |

Nothing different from Clarke. I remember before the 1998 TDL, Clarke swore up and down he wasn't making a goalie move. 24 hours later, Sean Burke was a Flyer |

I like Holmgren much better than Clarke as a GM. Who do you think will be the most improved Flyer next year? |

I'm extremely objective about it. And my objectivity is based on I'm not in his shoes. And I wasn't there. So I'm not going to criticize based on hearsay and judge someone for how they reacted to a situation. I put myself in his shoes and ask, how would I have felt.
And I didn't in any way state that anyone is a bad person for having an opinion. But Jeff Carter is apparently a bad person for being human. - MJL
never said carter was a bad guy, but he handled the situation somewhat unprofessionally.
your supposed objectivity re carter/Richards doesn't wash. where your concerned, they can do no wrong. holmgren had the final say on that one- those two weren't the guys he wanted to build around. they're good support players and they were effective in those roles for LA. |

Bryz - aosplayo
Bryz is going to have a lot of pressure on him again next season. The adjustment period is over and people are going to expect bigger things. I think Bryz can do it but hes going to need the support of his teammates also. Two areas I would like to see Bryz improve on is keeping his stick down protecting his five hole and being better handling the puck behind the net. |

I hear all of that. I think he has it in him. Who do you think will be most improved?
Side note: IF Bryz is the most improved....well.......book your parade spot |
