Hey guys from EK:
The Flyers, Canadiens, Capitals, and Hurricanes all may have interest in Jay Bouwmeester. As I have reported over the past few days, it really sounds like the Flyers are attempting to move for a top D-man via trade...and they may be willing to give up a top 6 forward...or even two if that other D-man is Shea Weber... More on that later today.. |

What do you guys think about this rumor of Bouwmeester to the Flyers? IMO that is one hell of a cap hit to pay for the next 2 years. I think it might be a secondary deal Homer is putting together in case he cant get Weber, and also maybe make Nashville a little nervous Flyers might back out on a Weber deal. Maybe if they hear Flyers are close on Bou, then they will take JVR without the surgery. |

he'll sign with whoever can guarantee him 20 mins a night in the show, no? - OrangeBlack27
Seems like a poor way to select an organization. Is he repped by Carl Lindros? |

Don't understand why people keep posting pictures. The vast majority of Flyers fans aren't bothered that Carter and Richards won a Cup. Nor should they. Doesn't change the fact the Flyers made two very good hockey trades. - PLindbergh31

Amen.
I was pulling for the Kings in the Final, after the Flyers were eliminated, but I wasn't rooting with any kind of passion. I don't have a second team, but I will root for guys who I enjoy watching play, or who are ex-Flyers that I liked.
Like in 2006, I pulled for the Canes because of Brind'Amour and Williams. But I didn't celebrate their win. - Jsaquella
Thanks.
I wasn't rooting for the Kings but I wasn't rooting against them either. I'm a Flyers fan, so I didn't want a Flyers rival to win the cup either. Too close to home.
I agree I didn't celebrate either win.
For example, when the Nukes and Rangers were in the final a while back, someone asked me who i wanted to win. I told them the Nukes and they argued with me and said the Cup needs to stay in the United States. I just could not bare to see the Rangers (Flyers rival) to raise the cup. Although they did...
I'm enjoying all this armchair PS3 General Manager stuff that I'm reading, I would rather pass and have you add to the conversation. |

that's what a lot of these college kids do now. he'll sign with minnesota or anaheim, some team that's not completely dreadful/inept (tough luck, howson!), but can promise him ice time and pay him the max. |

He never became a FA if I remember correctly. Calgary traded for his rights and signed hum before he hit the market. |

that was pretty embarrassing, but perhaps cultural differences have something to do with it. |

I curious what you think they are going to pay him. I wouldnt go over 3.5 million for a guy that hasn't stepped 1 foot on NHL ice yet. |

he has to sign an ELC, so max is 925k per before bonuses but could get as high as 3.75ish, i believe, if he hit all his bonuses, which is very unlikely. |

i agree. and minnesota has a chance to be really good in a year or two.
