I started to and then realized it WAS a waste of time so managed to only kill 1 paragraph worth of time.

Fortunately he doesn't use big words so it wasn't very time consuming.

Wow...Interesting comments by Holik. Actually i think he makes good points, but also misses the point. And that point is that there is a reason why the Flyers are such a storied franchise and have so many players stay involved with the organization.

Believe it or not Bobby, it IS possible to be happy for former players and team mates who are successful.

Eh, whether they truly believe it or not is irrelevant. The question was posed and they took the high road with the answer. Works for me.

Hey bobby you know whats disrespectful? You uni-brow.
Saying that the players you mentioned were eXpendable is disrespectful.
Your production with the rangers was disrespectful.
The flyers didn't trade carter, gagne, or williams to the kings.
I think that six former flyers players or coaches(eight if you count murray and lombardi) gives fans and former team mates the pass to be happy and root for the kings.

I am actually very impressed with his blog. I didn't realize anyone could type so accurately with cement hands.

Just seen that Chicago opens with Flyers on Sept 25 th ( preseason) barring CBA of course.

Crosses fingers there isn't a lockout but I think we'll miss some time, sad to say.

God I hope not. I think both sides need to realize that another work stoppage could kill all momentum the league has built over the past few years.

The Devils making it to the finals already killed the momentum. Thats what the ratings say...

Seems like a poor way to select an organization. Is he repped by Carl Lindros?

People were saying the same thing about Jagr. But I am hoping it is diversionary tactics used to get Nashville to bite quicker. But the Flyers do need a back-up plan IMO. I would be willing to give JayBo a chance, but not a long one. I haven't heard much about him since he went to Calgary. Is he still a good player?

Using Holik's logic:
* any player that was ever traded, and then went on to win the cup with another team, should immediately start trolling all the other teams that traded him for their obvious mistake in trading away such an awesome player.

*any team that trades a player who eventually wins a cup with any other team, even if it is not the team to which they traded that player, should feel horrible and stupid that they traded away such an obvious Cup winning stud.

If Domonic Moore ever wins the Cup, it will be absolute bedlam trying to keep up with who he should hate, and who should hate him.

I'd rather avoid over 35 deals if at all possible. Kuba, at the right price wouldn't be a bad addition, though.
- Jsaquella

This is not the player I want. He had a big contract year after playing so so. Is an over 35 contract and is a lefty with only moderate offensive ability. This would be plan "C" IMHO.

He's great if you like paying almost $7M per year for a so so d-man, that doesn't hit and can't score.

So yeah, let's sign him up!!

They would have to take Bry and give homer a hummer. JBo is untradeable until the trade deadline in two years (when his contract will be up shortly after). That rumor is absurd. Unless he comes with a couple of prospects/picks I don't see it happening.

I was happy for all of them, Carter a little less so because of the way he acted when he was traded, as well as basically quitting on the Columbus team. It really is unbelievable to me that guys who make millions of dollars playing a sport (yes I know they achieved this through hard work) think it's their birth right to play for a contending team. Guess what, it's not. I can't stand when players instead of trying to be part of a solution are part of the problem.
- PLindbergh31

What's really unbeleivable to me, is the lack of understanding of the entire situation when making off base criticisms. You know what right Carter gave up, in return for signing a long term Contract in an Organization that he wanted to play with and stay long term? The right to Free Agency at 27 years of age. Where he can choose where to play. It has nothing to do with a birth right. It has to do with rights granted to players under the CBA. Just brutal!

he also got the security of knowing he would be set for life regardless of performance or injury. to come off like a victim in that circumstance is right out of the heatly play book. grow up & be a man and things have a way of working out...and they did.

carter never had to sign that deal. In signing a 10 year deal, he had to understand there was always the possibility he could be traded up until the no trade kicked in.
