I thought Campbell was a better story than a goalie. He had his moments, but the team game in front of him made him look better than he is, IMO.
I don't think he's done much of anything since, has he? - keptupl8
He was solid in the WJC the following year. Had a 1.70 GAA and a .941 sv%. His stats in the OHL and AHL haven't been spectacular, but I don't know that they tell the whole story. I think he's gonna be good. It's the poise he plays with that I like. I feel like he's a big game goalie, if that makes sense.

I'll give you that on Vinny...
But.. on Getzlaf.. think about it... They have Getzlaf, Corey Perry, Visnovsky, and Lydman all going to be UFAs after next season.. they won't have the money to resign all of them.. probably let Lydman walk but still he did have the best +/- in the NHL for a long time this year or last I can't remember... but need to keep 2/3 out of the the others. All of them already made 5+M so being able to sign them with a small raise would be impossible.
They already have a lot of money tied up in Ryan, Cogliano, Beauchemin, Sbisa, and Hiller for a long period of time.. and they have a few young pups who are READY for the NHL and one of which is a Center.
With Roy they would have a capable player who has put up big points which an expiring contract for them to have at their finger tips.. they will have a young puck moving d-man to add to their roster for the next 3 years if they lose both Visnovsky and Lydman. And a 12 overall pick that they could pick another young Center or Winger.. its not that far off it really isn't. - JVince117
Visnovsky has hinted on retirement and will be 36 in August.
Lydman will be 35 at the start of the season, you really think he's gonna get a big contract?

I said they will have to completely retool their d-pairings too. Spend some money to bring someone in during UFA

They will take Reinhart in the draft.
Reinhart, Fowler, Sbisa, Vatanen, and Beauchemin. They will make a trade for a top 4 and sign a depth guy or two. I think they'll be fine, still be able to sign Getzlaf, Perry, and Ryan, and have money left over.
I honestly don't know if I would trade Sekera who is signed for multiple years for Stewart who would be a 1 year rental. I say Leo for Stewart.. both 1 year left on deals.. both at the same salary cap. - JVince117
Why do u assume he'd be a rental?
He's an RFA after this season, so we'd retain his rights at the very least

try it out... 2006 is only about 7 years ago. - JVince117
Yep it was 05/06, or the same year you have stated you started watching hockey. Also the year your boy Mcgrattan played 60 games (the most in his career for a season). He's played a total of 69 games in the last 4 yrs and is on his 5th organization in 5yrs. I think there are better options for the 4th line.
If you want/need a fighter sign Parros, he at least plays an average of 59 games a year.
