They want to move Sekera and I just heard this last weekend, they don't like Regher. My source flat out thinks he sucks.
They (management, coaches, ect) are split on Myers. Some think he will be a star, others think he is "out to lunch" and lacks the intensity to ever be more than what he is now. Only time will tell I guess.
They really like McNabb and I'm pretty sure he will have a spot in the top 6.
Weber is pretty much out the door Ive been told. - Homer
Regehr's NTC is still in effect though, right?
I just kind of assumed that after they made such a big pitch to get him that asking him to waive would be in rather poor taste
However, if StL is looking for a "stay at home" type...
Maybe he's the guy that goes for Stewart
If he were gonna waive his NTC, I'd think he'd at least consider StL with the strong season they had last year
And maybe I'm being a "homer" but I think we can get A LOT for Sekera...
He appears to be entering his prime & everyone saw how good he was at "worlds"
Plus he's under contract for 3 more years at under a 3mil cap hit...
That makes him VERY attractive to just about every team in the NHL I'd think...
Just HOW attractive is the obvious question
I'd like to see weber stay as a 6-7 just bc we completely lack physicality that he brings... If he can eliminate the bonehead plays m keep hitting ppl, he's perfect for 15min a night
Myers showed me A LOT vs Philly in that playoff series
He obviously has a ways to go in being a consistent physical force,
But as young as he is... For now, I'm happy with him showing it here n there and then kicking ass come playoff time...
Look how long it took Campbell to become the all-star he is now... Or chara is even a better example... It took 8 or so years n his 3rd team b4 he became a Norris trophy-type guy... We don't know what Myers will become, but I've seen enough to keep him around and find out
I've been saying all along that McNabb will be better than Myers, so I'm not surprised the Sabres are high on him...
Ubthink he'll be very Chris pronger-like
Id rather go after morrow and/or doan over another underachieving suck sister in Stewart. - dadeadhead
Love both those guys... 3 years ago...
And u should've added Iginla to that list too...
I can see why you'd rather have those guys bc they are total warriors,
But they are also nearing the end
Stewart is barely beginning
And it's prob more likely he's available than any of the above
I guess I'm more willing to overlook the downside of guys like Stewart & Evander Kane because their upside is freaking insane & I feel they're young enough to still mature n reach their potential
What I propose is certainly a risk,
But so is taking on a vet thats had injury issues or that u figure will have some soon with the type game they've played for so long
If we had to pick between trading the same players for Clowe, Pavelski, or Staal... who would you guys want??
lets just imagine the package was Sekera, Adam, and a 1st? - JVince117
Pavelski...
But that's too much to give up for anyone other than Staal
Staal just doesn't make sense to me though
If he's our #1, which presumably means he won't be asked to be a defensive matchup vs guys like Crosby...
Then who would we match up bs Crosby?
Ennis.... Nope
Hodgson.... Maybe, but that's A LOT to ask a guy who is clearly still developing
A guy like Pavelski would cost less n can take on the role that Drury had when here
My opinion anyways

There's that word again. Out of the 2 I'd rather go with Evander Kane. Stewart is a project and we have enough of those on the team.
IMO Iginla and/or Morrow get moved over the summer.

The problem with Sekera is he plays his best in the Olympics and Worlds (bigger sheet of ice).
Sekera is that guy that if traded it will be a one for one type deal. D-man for a forward with a similar cap hit and term.
