how many others could you say that for? - homiedclown
For the first month of the season, I was so frustrated by Ehrhoff it wasn't even funny. But after that he really was our best D man when he was in the lineup. A lot of people complain about Leopold, but I think he's been pretty solid back there.
I don't mind Sekera so much when he's on the 2nd or 3rd pairing. I just don't think he should ever be on the 1st. He can't handle playing against the top opposition. He panics and makes stupid mistakes. |

The problem with Sekera is he plays his best in the Olympics and Worlds (bigger sheet of ice).
Sekera is that guy that if traded it will be a one for one type deal. D-man for a forward with a similar cap hit and term. - dadeadhead
That's why I thought he was a good fit for my Chris Sterwart idea,
Even though you pointed out that StL may be looking for more of a "stay at home" type
Also, I don't really see Stewart as the "project" you do
I just think he had a rough year and doesn't really fit on the blues for whatever reason
His previous 2 seasons were pretty successfull,
So I think he's worth taking a shot on...
We might just have to agree to disagree here though
I just brought him up, because it seems like he might actually get moved (unlike most of the ppl we talk about, haha)...
And we could really use a physical forward that can play top minutes for us |

It will show me a lot if they move Sekera instead of Leopold. Moving Sekera means they want to build a team to compete this year.
It should be an interesting few weeks |

I say you move the Vets and rebuild, but not so much of a total rebuild it takes a 5 or more years. I really would love to get my hands on Charlie Coyle from Minnesota. The more I think about it, the more I'm falling in love with the kid. There's just something about him. When I watch him play, I feel like he just has "it." |

I'll send them Vanek. I don't even need anything back. We get younger, free up a TON of cap space, and they get a guy that's put up the 8th most points since the lockout. Seems like a win for both IMO. |

Well, if we can find a RH defenseman like homer suggests...
Ehrhoff - new guy
Regehr - Myers
Sekera - Weber
-sulzer
Whenever weber is paired with Sekera, they seem to really click... I have no idea why Ruff doesn't play them together more?
Hopefully we get one more good year outta Regehr,
And the McNabb can slot into that spot next year
This leaves Leopold (who I think is very tradable) as someone we can package in a deal, or even get back a decent pick (2nd rounder?)
Not that I hate Leopold, I think he's fine... But we have too many similar defensemen & someone has to go if we're bringing in a "top4" guy |

I think you'll see Sulzer paired with Ehrhoff. The two of them have good chemistry together.
They already tried the Regehr/Myers experiment. Didn't work.
Apparently they want McNabb in the top 6 this year, so I would say that means they're looking to move someone. If they do that. You put him with Myers. They did that for a few games last year and I liked the way they look. You get them going, you have a pair that could really be good for years to come. |

I am torn on Myers
Tired of potential turning into bad contracts for this team in a cap era, and I own a jersey with his name on it.
Big year for him |

I would do Vanek, Brennan and a second rounder for Nash
Doubt it's enough but that is all I would offer |

I know they looked good together,
But sulzer & ehrhoff together doesn't make sense to me
Ehrhoff is prob our best defenseman & will get 20+ min a game... I can't see sulzer playing that much
I know Regehr / Myers didn't work so well, but as is, our other option is to put Sekera with him and put Regehr on the 3rd pair
If we're putting Regehr on the 3rd pair, we might as well try n move him...
But I think most of us feel that's look pretty bad after all the effort we went to acquiring him |
