As always, Vinny holds the cards with where he goes so he would have to rubber stamp anything that has him traded.
Secondly, you are coming up way short for Getzlaf. - Gunner Staal
I'll give you that on Vinny...
But.. on Getzlaf.. think about it... They have Getzlaf, Corey Perry, Visnovsky, and Lydman all going to be UFAs after next season.. they won't have the money to resign all of them.. probably let Lydman walk but still he did have the best +/- in the NHL for a long time this year or last I can't remember... but need to keep 2/3 out of the the others. All of them already made 5+M so being able to sign them with a small raise would be impossible.
They already have a lot of money tied up in Ryan, Cogliano, Beauchemin, Sbisa, and Hiller for a long period of time.. and they have a few young pups who are READY for the NHL and one of which is a Center.
With Roy they would have a capable player who has put up big points which an expiring contract for them to have at their finger tips.. they will have a young puck moving d-man to add to their roster for the next 3 years if they lose both Visnovsky and Lydman. And a 12 overall pick that they could pick another young Center or Winger.. its not that far off it really isn't.

They have plenty of cap space to sign their best players. They currently have 51.765M in cap space when Getzlaf and Perry are due raises. I mean if you want to make the argument for the Ducks moving Getzlaf, dont use cap space as the reason.

agreed, crapping the bed last season would be a much better argument.

... They will also only have 6 total skaters signed when they have 51M in cap space. Use the whole piece of it not just the part that helps you Gunn. I know that Blake, Selanne, and Koivu will all probably be gone or retired which frees up 12M in cap space.
I just don't know if they will want close to 20M a year in salary to Getzlaf, Perry, and Ryan alone... you know what I am saying. Ryan at 5.1 and I bet Getzlaf and Perry both will make 6.5-7.2 a year because they would easily get that on the open market.
I think it has been proven that no matter how sweet your top 3 guys are that doesn't mean you can win it all without atleast 6-8 quality guys on your team that can score.. and good defense back there too..

My Turn for 3 league and 1 Sabre trades...
Lecavalier to PHX for Vermette and 2nd rounder
Luongo to TB for Garon and 2nd rounder
Nash to Car for Ruutu, Sutter/LaRose, a 1st and a 2nd rounder
Sabres
Roy, Sekera, Brennan and a 1st to ANA for Getzlaf. - JVince117
i think at this point I wouldn't want to touch Getzlaf with a 10 foot pole. He may be Anaheim's captain, but I think he's got some leadership issues. He's lazy, coming off a terrible year, and then had some issues during the World Championship. I'll pass.

I guess I dont see why paying those 3 guys close to 20M/yr is a problem for cap reasons or on ice product reasons.
If I gave you the option to sign those 3 players in Buffalo right now and it would cost 21M, I cant think of too many Sabre fans turning that one down.
Their offensive help is coming in the form of Emerson Etem on a rookie contract in the near future. They need a better #2 center option behind Getzlaf and everything else will take care of itself in filling up the depth.

Like a Thomas Vanek type salary cap fcuk up.!! - JVince117
Stamkos was available for an offer sheet for quite a while and nobody did it, not sure why that would change with Karlsson.
