Also wouldn't we be basically in the same boat we were a year ago if we did that? - JoeRussomanno
Yes. I dont see the Flyers taken on Nash and his cap hit when they need defense. |

Nice work. I'm not sold since I think what we currently have plus a Garrison or Wideman is better then that squad but I give you credit for putting it together. I also don't see Schenn, Bob and our 1st being enough but that's just me. - coffee junkie
To be honest.. Id take Mike Weaver over Wideman in a heartbeat.
add Mike Weaver and (assuming the B's cant resign him) Greg Campbell.

I know that.. and thats exactly why I wouldnt make that move.
If I am getting a guy with that high a cap hit.. i dont care who the (frank) he plays for.. I wanna see at least 80 points a season (consistently) before i bring him on. - jak521
how much would you pay Parise over 6 years to play in Philly? Same age as Nash... Better numbers on a better team. |

Thanks. And yeah I agree that that won't be enought to get a deal done. Someone will have more to offer, but thats what I would leave on the table. Maybe include Cousins. I wouldnt move JVR unless Weber is coming the other way. I think you have to give him another year, although I'm not sure of the issues the organization and JVR's family have. I would imagine he wouldn't of signed such a long deal if the issues were of anything of concern. |

Call me a sucker but I would add Schultz and 4th line center who can win face-offs and play special teams, if I cant get Weber. I hold off until next year when Timonen comes off the books and try to get Edler or Enstrom. |

I been saying this for awhile now. Shultz is a young defenseman who has great potential. I would rather go with a young kid who will struggle at times than add a veteran who will command big money and tie up cap space. Shultz will take up limited cap space and if you want to upgrade you can at the deadline. Get that 4th line center who can play those hard minutes (win some faceoffs)and give the other guys some rest. |

Gregory Campbell has agreed to a three-year/$4.8 million contract extension with the Boston Bruins. This is a great depth signing for the Boston Bruins. Campbell had 16 points and 80 penalty minutes in 78 games this season.

I know Bill does work for the Dallas Stars. Just read this report.
Sheldon Souray has reportedly turned down a one-year contract offer from the Dallas Stars. It's believed that the Stars were offering Souray about $3 million. If the report is true, then Souray might regret it later. Souray had a respectable six goals and 21 points in 64 games last season. However, he's got a long injury history and he'll turn 36 in July. Even in a thin market, he's not likely to get another offer worth more than $3 million annually, although there might be a team out there open to giving him a two-year deal if he's willing to be flexible in terms of pay.

Yup. I'm sure he's looking for the highest paying 3 year deal he can get. 3 years at 2.5M is better than having to do the same thing at this time next season. |

Would you do G for Weber?
No one responded to my request really... Name top 5 most likely targets and the odds we get them.
Still a good day. I learned the definition of forechecking. In large part, it means getting the puck. |

You have to understand that he has 90-100 pt potential playing next to a guy like Giroux.
Look at what he's done in Columbus with no supporting cast. He's the only guy on his team who defenses have to worry about, so they will often solely focus in on shutting him down. That wouldn't happen here, or elsewhere for that matter.
He's not as soft as JvR either. He throws his body around when he's going, and is a much better finisher. The fact that he's 6'4, 220 helps too.
I'd love to have him. - LordStanley88
Hypothetical question. In your opinion, If Nash is on the Flyers this past Season, would the Flyers have beaten NJ in that Series?
