Centers: Giroux, Schenn, Couturier, Talbot
Wingers: Hartnell, Briere, Simmonds, Read, Wellwood
Defense: Weber, Coburn, Grossman, Meszaros, Timonen
Goalie: Bryz
I would be very happy with this if they made a trade for Weber. They could easily sign a few FA players on offense to fill roles and be perfectly fine next year. - Flyers2821
There is not enough grit... Add with a gritty FA center for the 4 line. And, put Sestitio and Rinaldo in. Talbot is a terrible center, and Briere is better in the middle.
Which leaves... (I assuming JrV and Voracek is gone).
Hartnell/Giroux/FA??? (not sold on the idea of bringing Jagr back)
Simmonds/Briere/Schenn (or move Schenn to line 1 wing)
Read/Couturier/Talbot
Sestito/FA???/Rinaldo or Wellwood

I really wonder, if the efforts for Suter and Weber don't pan out, if the Flyers would turn to Calgary and see if Jay Bouwmeester would be available - Jsaquella

I get what your saying, but also don't think Talbots terrible. Also not sold on Jagr, but if the players want him back then sure, obviously his value goes beyond statistics.
The grit piece, it's tricky. Obviously you look at teams like the Kings, Devils, Bruins from last year and you say they are a gritty squad or whatever. But they are also a confident squads peaking at the right time, so that grit pops out at you. There were times this season that the Flyers were cruising along the same way, there is plenty of grit on this team imo.
I think it also has to do with players feeling comfortable in their roles. We had a lot of new faces that I feel will be more comfortable in their role on this team, i.e. Schenn, Simmonds, Couts. Those are physical players in their own right that with a year of being on this team under their belt, I think will play with an edge next season. I just think these are all professionals, and you don't get to this level without being gritty, it's a matter of confidence and comfortability to play your style of game. |

Talbot is a terrible center? - MBFlyerfan
Yes, he makes a better winger.
I'd rather have a guy like Gaustad... They hit about the same, but Gaustad's 6'5" vs Talbot 5'11". Face-off (H/A) 63-51% vs Talbot's 47-41% |

Yes he does make a better winger. But I asked if he was a terrible center, which he is not.
He is a very good defensive center, a very good defensive forward. To say he is a terrible center is simply wrong.

Yeah, I can understand preferring him on the wing, but 'terrible' seems like an overstatement to me. |

That Nash won't waive his NTC stuff is complete garbage. Homer is trying to drive his price up though. Boston and NYR going really hard.
Flyers priority remains Weber. |
