Kane has a lot of talent but his all around game is an issue. Didn't he get benched for lack of hustle or effort? I dont see the big upgrade moving JvR for Kane. - stveshdy
Kane for JvR would be a coup... the guy is all hustle, 30-goals, 170+ hits, one-punch KO'd Matt Cooke.... I have a soft spot for the kid, but nwhat exactly has JvR done outside of that one playoff run? |

Does this fall under the category sometimes the best deal is the deal that is not ever made? - ravishingone
It falls under the bullpoop rumor wasn't true category.
Why complete a deal, and risk players involved finding out and getting upset/angry without knowing if the trade target would agree to waive his NMC to come here? |

JvR was hurt last year and his minutes the previous years were pretty limited. I'm not opposed to the deal. How much you think Kane is looking to sign for? |

Also, at this point Nash would agree to go anywhere. |

They never announced who Columbus would be getting though, right?
Hockey Buzz Eklund@Eklund
Nothing to Nash to Philly yet. Flyers are in the mix, but I wouldn’t call them a favorite even. some mis-direction at work here.

The names that he mentioned were JvR, Bob, Read, Voracek and Couturier...not that all were going, but that they had been discussed.

You would certainly have to believe Howson would know without question who Nash would waive his NMC for in a trade. However, with Howson anything is possible. I still believe in the end, Nash ends up with the Rangers. |

I honestly dont know what the Flyers are thinking if they make this deal. How does this make them better? How much money are they taking back? How do you replace the players traded? How does your defense get upgraded? Too many questions for my liking. |

Now you know it is a crap sandwich. Howson is interested in possibly acquiring a player he just agreed to trade a year ago in Voracek. Really, now that is funny. |

I mean more from Holmgren's point of view.
Say he agreed to trade JvR, Bob, Read and a 1st for Nash and a prospect. The deal falls apart, but JvR, Bob and Read learn they were involved. How does that make them feel? How loyal can you be to a team that you would have been traded from if another player agreed to report? |

If he has the chance to unload Nash for younger talent and less money I can see it happening from his end.
I think Voracek could be traded. I just have a bad feeling after Homers press conference but I hope I'm wrong cause I like Jake a lot. |

I dunno but sometimes a deal falls apart. Those players can either choose to believe the rumors or not. I don't think Homer announces who is being traded unless the deal actually happens. So if your a player its pretty much bogus news. |

I think that was posturing by Homer at the season ending press conference and since that time:

I think he ends up on the roster. |

Sure deals break down, but if you're offering that much for one guy, you ask beforehand if he'll agree to wiave to come here. |

I totally agree. Homer isn't an idiot and I think that question would be asked before he even wasted his time. |

If this rumor is true, unfortunately I doubt a leak would come out from the Flyers ends. Let's face it, this team really knows how to lock down information. On the other end in Columbus, I'm not as sure.

That'd be tampering. But come on, it's a bogus rumor anyway. The guy would take any deal on the table at this point. |
