If this rumor is true, unfortunately I doubt a leak would come out from the Flyers ends. Let's face it, this team really knows how to lock down information. On the other end in Columbus, I'm not as sure. - ravishingone
JvR, Read, (2) 1st rd picks is something I would offer to get Weber (plus more if needed) but not for Rick Nash.
The Flyers would be overpaying bigtime in that scenario. |

That'd be tampering. But come on, it's a bogus rumor anyway. The guy would take any deal on the table at this point. - hereticpride
No, it's not tampering. You ask the other GM for permission. If you have the other team's permission, it's not tampering |

Nash wants out badly so I don't see why he wouldn't want to come to Philly. Theres nothing worse than playing in Columbus. This rumor has no legs if you ask me. |

I would seriously consider going after Kane before Nash. Younger and his cap hit wont be ridiculous in the process either (RFA). |

Agreed, but it is less then a week before the draft and a lot of the big market teams have money to spend because of the increase in the cap. I think misinformation is going to be floated out all week, the "silly season" is in full effect. |

I have heard/read rumors about the Flyers having interest in Nash before but I still don't understand how adding him is going to make this team better if they have to give up 2-3 players and possible picks. |

I hope Nash finds his way to the rangers with one of Kreider or McDonoagh coming back. Unfortunately I think Dubinsky, Stepan, del zotto, Plus a pick would get it done. Win for the rangers |

JvR for Kane. Thats the best offer they can make. Unless the Flyers are holding out to try and atleast see whats going to happen with Weber. I truely believe you need a player like JvR to get a deal done with Nashville. |

JvR was hurt last year and his minutes the previous years were pretty limited. I'm not opposed to the deal. How much you think Kane is looking to sign for? - stveshdy
All things being equal, including health, I'd still take Kane over JvR.
I'm sure his agent is offering up JvR's extension as a comparable.

Make the move Homer. JvR for Kane. Straight up. Get this Nash trash outta here.
Question is will Winnipeg do it? |

Look at it from Howson's point of view. First, Howson is trying to get the best deal for his club (and for his own career) at this point. Also, I'm starting to wonder if Nash is annoyed enough to have narrowed his list to the point of one maybe two clubs. Howson may think that by still trying to trad him to a big market club not on his list, might entice Nash to go anyway. At this point, if your Howson would you rather take JVR at $4 million + or Dubinsky at $4 million + as part of a deal?
Of course, this is all speculation on my part, but I find this story very interesting. I only move those type of assets for Weber. |

Only thing going for the Flyers is Kane wants no part of doing a deal with Winnipeg. I'm sure Winnipeg wants atleast a few players and probably picks. |

Yeah, they'd have to be pretty desperate to go for that. Flyers would have to throw in another asset or two. |

Look at it from Holmgren's point of view. If I'm negotiating a trade for a player, I want to know before I start spinning my wheels if the guy will agree to report. Otherwise, I'm not going to waste my time & risk having stuff leak. |

Winnipeg has to use him as a big chip, not a one for one deal |

I personally am not a big Nash fan (a little overhyped and huge cap hit), but IF we sign Jagr and Jake, when all forwards are healthy (maybe, IF all are healthy), then you really have ten Top-9 forwards, 11 if you count Talbot. Read played on the 4th line in the PO after JVR came back.
If the deal were JVR and Read, plus picks and / or non-forward players, take those two and add Nash and you'd probably have a higher "goal certainty". I mean, JVR plus Read could score more goals, but more likely that Nash outscores them.
It still wouldn't be my preferred splash this year, but I could live with it. My bigger worry is that Schenn or Couts would be in the deal, and I think both of those guys could be better than Nash in the long run. |

Since Nash is still property of Columbus, I don't think he can directly speak to Nash or risk tampering charges I believe. I think in this situation he has to go by the credibility of Howson in this situation that the player is willing to move. |

If Columbus grants permission for Holmgren to speak to Nash or his agents, then there is no tampering.
Tampering only applies when a team doesn't have permission to speak to another team's player/agent. |

Well, then I guess if the rumor is true, Homer has 72 hours to convince Nash to move. Stay tuned.

This offseaon will be exciting to say the leadr. Lindback got a huge returnfor the preds. I think there will be a boatload of trades this year. I also think that the cba will be done and there will be no work stoppage. Hopfully I am right |

I don't think it's true. I think that they have interest in Nash, but at the same time, I don't see them going through the whole process without first securing Nash's agreement to waive his NMC. |
