I'd reject the trade. Only go with tweaks & keep the draft picks is my approach.

Adding voracek to that deal is way in nashvilles favor... I'd do jvr read and a 1 st no guarantees weber signs here after the year is over

He only smiled because he knew he had a higher level than you in Skyrim.

Poile has to slow play this thing to the end. He has to retain at almost any cost one of Suter or Weber, it is going to be a PR disaster if he loses both.

I believe the Flyers go for more of a higher ceiling guy in the first round then the safer pick. I like Koekkoek from what I've read, who else fits that bill. I would be suprised if they select a goalie in the first round.

No truth to the rumour Rick Nash has vetoed a trade to the Philadelphia Flyers. I've been told that, "Couldn't be further from the truth,"

Only way I see Nash being an option is if every other "name" player we go after falls through. And if we sign Nash then Jagr is as good as gone. They need to spend money on defense. That part isn't even an opinion at this point. I saw someone the other day suggest we go into this season with Coburn as one of our top two D-Men.

The Rangers offered even more in the trade they made with the Nordiques a few hours after the Nords had already agreed to a deal with the Flyers: Doug Weight, Tony Amonte, Alexei Kovalev, John Vanbiesbrouck, three first round draft picks (1993, 1994 & 1995) and $12 million in exchange for the rights to Lindros.

I do believe Homer is somewhat involved getting Nash. However, trading for Nash pretty would eliminate the ability to acquire Weber unless they really deplete the young talent (I don't think Homer would do that).

I suspect they push really hard to acquire Parise July 1st then make a strong push to acquire Weber with the forward depth the club has on the roster. I think Nash is a fall back option just not so sure Howson is going to wait past the draft.

The problem I have with the "add a big name forward to trade other guys for D" is that unless it's for Weber there really isn't a D man out there that's worth the price of a Schenn or Jake that isn't going to be an overpayment on our end. I'd like us to be proactive and not hinge our season upon what happens in Nashville. I'd really like for us to be able to grab Koekkoek at the draft and re-sign Carle for under 5. That way when FA rolls around we still have some money to play with and JVR as a big trading piece to then see what D men are available.

Agreed, that is why the Nashville situation is very tricky. I do believe the organization does understand improving the back end is very important, but at the same time as much I respect Hartnell and Jagr I wouldn't exactly call them snipers. Hartnell had a great year, but for the most part his goals were dirty goals (hey, they all count). I think they are concerned about adding a top flight winger to compliment G. For whatever reason, there seems to be a change of heart towards JVR becoming that player.

I think there are going to be a lot of moving parts on July 1st. I do believe they have deals in principal for both Carle and Jagr at this point. However, depending on what happens, those contracts may never be issued to the agent.

Nash > nothing...

I hate to say it, but I'm done waiting for JRV to light it up. He'll have a good career, but nowhere near Nash. JRV may need a change of address.

As for Jagr. I'm afraid that they may have to sign him for political and not to upset the locker room. I read that he's requesting to stay on the top line, and being on the top PP. That's BS, no player should demand that - it needs to be earned. Personally, I think he's done.

Nash is big, he scores, etc... Depending on what it would take to get him - I'd say go for it. Hell, Hartnell is a top goal scorer with Giroux. I'd lke to see what Nash/Giroux could do.

And, for all those who want to give the "kids" more ice time. Replacing Jagr/JRV with Nash would open up more ice time for Schenn, Read, etc...

JvR, Voracek, Bourdon and next 2 first round picks for Weber is what Ek is claiming to be a possibility...

I'd do it in a heart beat. Wouldn't even think twice

At the cap hit Nash has, there is no way I do anything to acquire him. Absolutely nothing. Don't want that ridiculous cap hit.

If that "big name" is Shea Weber, you do it. No if ands or buts about it.

Shea Weber is a franchise changing player.
